Bogus email?

Good Day All:

I've waited to see if anyone else mentioned this but no one has. That in itself may be the answer. The Question is has anyone else received a notice supposedly from ebay asking us to sign a petition requesting fewer duties.

I received this on Jan.11. The address in the header says exactly this: eBay@reply.ebay.ca.

I'd never open a link in an unsolicited email so I looked in my site mailbox and found nothing! Grammar wise it has correct spelling but I did notice issues with punctuation that made me take notice.

It's the real deal.

A thread about this is currently active on the Seller Central board:

https://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/More-quot-de-minimis-quot-maneuvering/m-p/362491#U362491

While it may seem strange that a sellers' board is hosting a thread about this, consider that Canadian eBay sellers and retailers stand to be hurt by a change to how taxes and duties are levied on "casual" imports.
