Seller do not honor transaction claiming listing error after auction ended

I inquired about this listing three days before the auction ended but seller never bothered to reply. Now the seller is claiming an error in listing after the auction ended.

What to do with this type of seller?

Seller do not honor transaction claiming listing error after auction ended

New seller, never sold on eBay before.

Offers a computer on ten day auction. starting price $29.99.

Gets one bid ($30.00) after five days, then your bid ($31.00) for five seconds to go.

Quite obviously, he is not happy with the final price of  $31.00 and refuses to sell at that price.

Now, you cannot force anyone to sell you something if they do not want to.

The seller is wrong and should be reported to eBay for refusing to sell.

You can also leave appropriate feedback.

And that is about it.

In future, I strongly suggest you avoid bidding on expensive items from sellers with no prior eBay experience.

Did you buy the item despite not getting a reply from the seller?

What is the listing number?

Did the seller advertise that he shipped to Canada?

If not he can refuse the transaction and Report you as an Unwelcome bidder.

Did he give a shipping fee to Canada?

If not he can charge any shipping fee he thinks reasonable, and eBay will back him. If you do not pay, eBay can give you a Strike which will make it harder to bid on eBay.

Did you win the auction?

If you have paid, you can start a Dispute citing Item Not Received.

You can leave feedback for up to 60 days after purchase.

Here's the seller message:

Here's my reply:

Dear cfar_610,
REALLY? I sent you an email on September 6 asking for your last price but you never bothered to reply. Now that no one bid except me and another one, you tell me that there was an error? If there was a mistake, you had all the time in the world to correct it before the auction ended.

Thanks, I know that's one mistake I made, but how do I report this seller to eBay for refusing to sell? Sellers can do non-paying buyers but how about non-selling sellers? I can leave a negative feedback but if he retaliates and leave me the same? I got 100% positive and I don't like having a negative, even just one.

"but if he retaliates and leave me the same?"

Seller CANNOT leave neutral or negative feedback for buyers.  Only positive.

This is one reason why eBay ended sellers ability to leave negative feedback many years ago: to prevent retaliation.

To report: use the report link in the listing

No shipping, pickup only.

So you have his address for the pickup? He's in your area?

You can get this information including his phone number from eBay.

But on the whole, while you are entitled to be annoyed at the waste of your time, not every deal is going to work out.

I know that I can't get the item. I just want this seller to be banned from eBay if possible.

This seller's been a member since 2011. Like you said, he didn't like the final price.

While a member since 2011, that member had only purchased one item so far and attempted to sell another: the computer for which you were the high bidder.

"I just want this seller to be banned from eBay if possible."

It does not work that way.  Everyone is entitled to make a mistake or two.

However, the negative feedback you have left for him may be a big "red flag" to other potential buyers, should he decide to list again.  I suspect he will not.
