Should i close the case?

I have made a request to ebay for an item that i didn't receive. The seller agree to send it back and ask me to close the case before. if i close the case and i still don't receive the item will i be able to open a new case?

Most definitely not.  I would never trust a seller making such request.

And no you cannot reopen a case you previously closed.

Do you mean the seller is offering to send a replacement for the item you never received?

He won't.

And it is very likely there never was an original shipment.

And he should start wearing asbestos pants.

Tell him you will accept a prompt and full refund of both price and shipping and that you expect to see it before the day is over.

If you don't see your money within 12 hours, escalate the dispute to a claim.

If he does not refund you in full, Paypal will and go after him for their money.

It's not the principle of the thing, it's the money.
