I bid $2406 for a sword yet e-bay only registered a bid of $2255. Then the auction ends with my max bid being higher than the $2280 bid which won the auction, HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?

My only guess is perhaps there wasn't really the 3 seconds you thought were left when you made the bid. 3 seconds is cutting it pretty close to make a bid and have it process through as the page reloads.
