With the exception of a few very large businesses, who use eBay as part of their marketing strategy, most eBay sellers use Paypal as an anonymizing payment service.
Paypal allows the seller to receive payments from the buyers credit card or bank account, but does not reveal any of the buyer's financial information to the seller.
