My item came from Amazon, I started a return and the return address is Amazon's.

I don't understand what to do next and this seems really sketchy to me.

Contact the seller and confirm the return address is correct. What did the original packaging show?

1. Amazon warehouses can be used by sellers who sell on various websites (including eBay) with amazon processing and shipping the orders for them (and that also includes handling returns). It's called "Multi-Channel Fulfillment".

2. eBay seller might be dropshipping from an A-river seller.
