Why did seller request I close the case when it has not been resolved?

I have open a case when I did not received my item by the suggested  delivery date. The seller responded that they will satisfy me by either resending the item or refunding me at a later time but,  that I should close the file at the resolution center first??

Is this normal? I'm afraid ifI close the file , there will be no recourse if the seller does not follow thru?

do not close the case until you have received a refund, i believe it closes automatically after refund is sent.. do not accept an offer to resend the product.. take the refund and buy it from someone else with a better record of items received..

and if you are buying from Asian sellers look at buying locally .

The case will close automatically as soon as the seller sends a refund. So do NOT close it yourself unless the item finally arrives.

Do NOT accept a replacement.

The command to close the case before the seller will take any action is a solid sign that you are dealing with a scammer

Tell him to refund you.

If he does not ask eBay to step in and escalate to a Claim.

If the scammer seller does not prove Delivery (not shipping, delivery) you will be refunded.
