Why does ebay show US price before Canadian price

Whenever I click on a listing it shows the US price in bold above the smaller Canadian price when I couldn't care less about the US price, does anyone know why?

If looking at an individual listing that means that the sale price (as the seller set things up) will be in US dollars and the smaller-sized Canadian number is an estimate of the cost in Cdn $.

Does not have to be in US $, it could be in Euros or HK $ or AU $ or yen or Cdn $ (whatever the seller used when they set up the listing).  The smaller-sized value shows what the estimated local value would be -- ebay.com is US$, ebay.ca is CA$, ebay.co.uk would be UK£, etc.
