There are limited reasons for Retracting a Bid. Pick one that seems reasonable.
If you clicked to buy, you entered a contract.
You did follow the first step, contacting the seller.
You may receive a Request for a Mutual Cancellation. Immediately agree to it. If there is a place for a reason, choose 'Buyer Changed Mind'.
Your seller will get her fees returned (about 20% of the payment you were billed is paid to eBay) .
Leave positive feedback. 'Thank you for your help with my difficulties.' for example.
Or your seller may open an Unpaid Item Dispute.
If this happens you have two choices.
Pay up.
or
Don't pay.
If you choose the second, you will get a Strike against your buying account that will make it harder in future to bid on eBay since most selllers have automatic Blocks against deadbeat buyers.
