Dramatic helicopter images show flooded Siksika Nation

Very unfortunate. This tribe also lost a lot of land to the white man in the late 1800's. Took them nearly a 100 years to prove their case, but they did. Unfortunetly, the land was already gone. They will rebuild, they're a strong people.

 

I've never quite understood why people live so near to water, especially rivers where there is a history of flooding in all different parts of the world. I mean I know water is vital but it also is very determined when it wants to go wherever it wants to go. Build on the high land and bring the water to you.
