There is no such thing as 'Free Shipping'.

The cost of shipping such items is included in the price of the item.

Which is cheapest:

A $5 item with $10 shipping?

A $10 item with $5 shipping?

A $15 item with Free Shipping?

So.

If you have a multiple purchase, weigh and measure the parcel and work out how much postage and handling/packaging will cost you.

This is usually less than the total for all the shipping you calculated when you listed.

Your customer will be happiest if you 'generously' extend 'free' shipping to the entire order.

If you are looking for a bit of boilerplate for your listings, I can't think of anything better than "Combined shipping on multiple purchases."

Business formula = higher price first + additional cost.

For example in your case will be just total of two $4.50 + $0.00 = $4.50

bestcheapfast: ok, but remember the Free Shipping item already has the shipping included in the price so:

$4.50 + some part of the asking price let's say $2.00 = what you are asking the buyer to pay. In other words $6.50.

But your actual cost (depending on weight and measurements) may be only $5.00.

So it would look better to the customer if you charged him $4.00 for the shipping.

You're still covering your postage cost.
