Will the sellers use other methods to get package to use if the postal workers go on strike?

Will sellers use other methods of shipping if the postal workers go on strike. Like UPS or FedEx and how can we tell or know?

Some sellers will and some will not. It really depends on the seller. Your best course of action is to Contact Seller on the item in question and pose it to them. Will they use a courier? Which one? What is the delivery method timeframe and cost etc.

most are very expensive im thinking ,in canada there are options but its twice canada post like fed ex ,and for someting for example to texas that weighs 20 lbs its 150.00 bucks versus can post 60.00,so im not sure if anything you sell will be atractive at that rate and that is just an example a letter may only 20 dollars not sure on that,im sure others have a better idea, plus they will charge brokerage fees to your customer so expect lots of neg fb  just my opinion

The duty-free limit for Americans is $800 USD versus our $20 CAD. Sending items to the USA via courier are not likely to result in either tariffs or brokerage fees unless that limit is passed. Incoming is another story.

Regardless, buyers aren't allowed to leave negative feedback for having to pay Customs fees. It's beyond the control of the seller and will be removed by Feedback Specialists if you call eBay Customer Service.

Three sellers have responded so far.

aubreyclay and I have decided not to sell for the time being. I can't speak for him, but my items are usually sent FreeShipping and couriers are much too expensive to consider.

mjwl has chosen to use couriers for her bulkier items (Lego and other toys).

Some sellers in the Toronto and Vancouver area will be using a third party consolidator to take their shipments across the border, where they will be passed to USPS.

If you are a Canadian buyer, be cautious about purchases just now. The postal system is generally the least expensive, but will not be reliable for at least a week.

Couriers will be operating, but purchases from outside Canada will have the carrier charging you on your doorstep duty, sales tax and breathtaking 'customs brokerage fees'.

Canadian purchases that come by courier will be somewhat more expensive for shipping, but there won't be the import fees problem, obviously.

You ask the seller how they are shipping. They are the one with the answer.
