Case escalated- I refunded, does that also count as closed without seller resolution?

Here's what happened:

-buyer from Brasil opened INR case, advising item didn't arrive

-I responded with one of my form letters, a few weeks ago advising to let me know if it didn't arrive and I would refund

-no news from buyer, case remains open

-today, they escalated the case to eBay instead of just messaging me back so I can refund

Once I noticed the case had been escalated, I processed the refund, just as I said I would do.

Of course I get a defect for the INR, but, do I also get dinged under  " 0% cases have closed without seller resolution" too??

I don't think so because I refunded and "resolved" it that way, but would appreciate confirmation from someone who's had one before like this.....

I agree with your conclusion. Refunding before escalating makes no sense as they may get it. You refunded before eBay forced the refund.
