Mexico - Mail Lost

Buyer didn't communicate with me and open a case right away that he never receives his stamp item he bought in the beginning of March.

Sounds like Mexico is a high risk country, this is only the second time I sent item there !

Do you have similar experience ? What would you do ?

Thanks.

You will have to refund, I would do as soon as possible to avoid more problems, bad DSRs etc. When you refund, leave an out so if it does eventually arrive they may still pay you. Here are some form letters that I use in these situations, I do get buyers repaying me afterward so they do work....sometimes....

Here are my experiences regarding other countries, I have not had problems with Mexico for some time, and I do send a lot of stuff (I also sell stamps) overseas and to Latin America....

Mexico - Mail Lost

My Dad used to live in Mexico from the late 60's til his passing in 2001  At that time mail delivery to the area he lived in  went missing a fair bit   If there were items he was to receive that  were important he would have it mailed to people  he knew in Canada or the U.S that were coming down and they would bring it to him to be on the safe side   Could be the same now but I think with time it would have improved

With that said mail at times does disappear no matter where you send it

I have been selling here for approx 14 yrs and fortunatley it has only happened to me 7 or 8 times

Without tracking it will be very difficult to know what happened

I would rcommend  refunding the buyer in full and ask if it does arrive they send payment again

Does happen

I had one mailed to an area 45 km's from where I  live and it took 4 weeks to get there  Shoul dhave taken 2 days tops

If they paid with Paypal  one has to refund regardless

Proof of  tracking is required with them

If there is none  Paypal will side with the buyer and delaying it only gets both parties more upset  If they just opened the case they did wait a reasonable time before opening the case  and are probably just getting what they paid back

Unfortunatley that's the down side to mail order items do get lost  stolen etc at times  Hopefully it wont happen often
