Shipping and operating from Canada / Selling to US customers

Hi,

we were wondering if we have to pay any taxes (selling, income, etc.) in the US if we are selling/shipping/operating from Canada to the US eBay.com customers?

Thanks a lot!

If entirely based in Canada (listing on eBay.com does not count) then no US taxes. Just Canadian.

Your buyers are responsible for any duty / taxes, since they are the importers into the USA.

Basically you report income (and pay taxes if required) in your country of residence. For a business you may be required to report income in any Country where you have a "presence".

If you are a Canadian (legal) resident, selling from Canada to anywhere in the world you would report that income to the CRA.

It's more complicated if you are a US citizen living in Canada.
