TRS Status on eBay.com. Here we go again!

Received this message this morning from eBay.com by email (it is also in "My Messages":

You're an eBay Top Rated Seller
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Pierre,

Congratulations! You've achieved Top Rated Seller status, meeting eBay's US
seller performance standards:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html. To make
buyers aware of your commitment to customer service, eBay will identify you
as a Top Rated Seller. You are also now eligible to opt-in to eBay's new
managed returns process : http://pages.ebay.com/sell/returns/optin.html.

Having Top Rated status also makes you eligible for these additional
benefits on any of your listings that offer a 1-day handling time and
14-day or longer return policy with money back option:

-20% discount on final value fees
-Increased search standing when you follow our listing best practices and
consistently deliver great service
-A prominent Top Rated Plus seal

To make sure you maintain your eBay Top Rated status, check your Seller Dashboard regularly

Again, congratulations and thank you for your hard work as one of eBay's
best sellers.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While I appreciate eBay congratulating me about being "one of eBay's best sellers" their message is meaningless.

I have NOT earned the designation since I never upload tracking numbers.  And no, there is  no "prominent Top Rated Plus seal" in any of my listings when viewed on eBay.com

Just another example of eBay's total lack of control over its communications with sellers.  Somehow, someone somewhere in the organization does not know what he is doing!  And it keeps happening. Smiley Sad

I would actually say that your "someone" is, in my view, a whole bunch of "somebodies".

Your example isn't an anomaly, rather almost more the rule these days.  I think a lot of us are beginning to expect glitches, screw-ups, lack of information (or outdated or incomplete information) and a badly functioning site to be business-as-usual on eBay. Woman Frustrated
