Requirements to register as a buyer

Recent buyer when invoiced said she did not know by bidding she would have to buy item and that she was only 12 years old. I am now waiting for non paying buyer setting to kick in and issue a listing credit. I reported buyer but so far only got standard acknowledgment.I also asked her parent or guardian to contact me or EBay because if 12 and playing on sites may have wandered into other inappropriate sites if not monitored. I had no answer as yet. Does not EBay vet new buyers and require credit card or bank information?

You can open an eBay Dispute after 96 hours.

But you can open a Paypal dispute immediately.

Since you have already been in touch with the bidder, go directly to the Claim.

If she (or her parents) don't pay, you will be refunded.

You can state that the bidder is underage, it may speed things up.

Leave appropriate feedback. "Bidder is 12 y.o. Be careful."

I had my first bank account by the time I was 6 or 7. And eBay does not require a credit card for buying.

Don't forget that eBay also allows people to buy as a Guest -- no eBay buyer ID required.

Make sure to block your pre-teen buyer for the next six years.
