Post, Preview, Cancel buttons have disappeared

When you are creating a new post or replying to an old one, 3 buttons are supposed to appear at the bottom of the writing box. The choices are "Post", "Preview", and "Cancel".

On my iPad, these buttons show up properly.

On my laptop (Windows 7, IE 😎 the buttons used to have only their top halves visible. Today they have disappeared completely.  I can tell they are still there because my cursor changes from a pointer to a pointing hand when I move over the area where the buttons should be - but I have to guess which one I'm clicking!  What's up?

Have you tried IE compatibility mode? Tools -> Compatibility

There was an update I installed yesterday that updated the list of compatibility views for Internet Explorer.  Did you have auto updates from Microsoft install this recently. Maybe it is the reason. If you were using compatibility mode already, this may have caused the change if it was installed in the last day or so.
