Sell remainder of car lease on Ebay motors?

Dear Experts,

I'm writing this for a friend who is in a tough situation.

His father has passed away, and he is the executor of the estate.

One item is a car, that is still in the second year of a four year lease.
The father's condo sold sooner than expected, and now the car must
be moved by the end of the month.

The Smart car is still owned by Mercedes, and the estate is liable for the payments.

Is it possible to sell the vehicle and lease payments on Ebay?

My sense is no.

But I thought I'd ask those who have more experience than myself.

Although a friend found his non-driving mother was stuck with a lease on his father's Lincoln even though she did not have a license. Unfortunately, he was unable to get out of it, mostly because he is not as smart as he thinks he is.
