Well I did it! Been selling since 2004 but I have now officially closed my store as of the end of this month. I used to get $500 per month on average now its barely enough to pay my store fees. I'm done!

I am sorry to see you go? Do you sell online on other venues, or at tables at craft sales? My hometown of Winnipeg is having something called a Fibrefest at the end of the month. I don't know enough about the event to guess whether it's held elsewhere.

Yep its getting bad. I have been through two economic crisis in real life work. When things are tough you have to make cut backs.

The whole thing that doesn't make sense is EBAY is not going through tough times as the one year look has been great. Also found this.

According to our EBAY split history records, eBay has had 5 splitseBay (EBAY) has 5 splits in our EBAY split history database. The first split for EBAY took place on March 02, 1999. This was a 3 for 1 split, meaning for each share of EBAY owned pre-split, the shareholder now owned 3 shares.

Yet they take from the backs of the very people they should be giving us more instead of taking away. Like cutbacks from 20 percent down to 10 percent. Greedy individuals who don't know what the hell they are doing in long run. Someone must be close to retirement that made that decision and his pension is based on final years. So he makes a ton of money now, off our backs. What a piece of work.

Gosh, that should not have been a question mark at the end of the first sentence. I meant it as a statement, not a questionable one.

I am sorry to see you go. Unquestionably.

Please excuse my poor typing.

The stock value of a company has very little to do with the way the company is run, or even whether or not it is profitable.

The stock market is just another casino.

The only way to make money on eBay stock is to sell it when it goes up, and buy it when it goes down.

The whole business is run to make stockholders happy, and that means working the quarterly reports.

If eBay paid dividends, there would be a reason for the company to make money, but when all the punters are doing is playing to the stock fluctuations, the actual business suffers.

Notable is that most senior managers are paid in part in stock options  and shares, so it is in their best interests to play this game, rather than concentrate on improving the business and its profits.

And I should be clear that I owned eBay stock at the time when the stock was splitting at the turn of the century. Each time it did, I sold my 'new' stock and held my original purchase only. I did quite well with it.

But now, the only stocks I will buy are those that pay dividends.

Yes I do sell elsewhere and also at fibrefest and craft sales. I will run some auctions here but that is all. My time is valuable and I am wasting it here
