If you used the 1-800 number provided online, then NO you were not
paying for the call. eBay CSRs like to lie to you. That line was
designed to get you to hang up sooner because they probably had no idea
on how to answer your concerns.
Most rural POs keep the stamp on the counter. Insist that they stamp
your item, or offer to do it yourself. This has never been a problem in
the tiny town I live in.
I think that maybe a phone call to Rogers would be in order. Check the
serial number with them, and if everything is cool, then register the
box. That is something that is usually required any way before they will
work right.
