North Pole is a small city in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, United States. It is part of the Fairbanks, Alaska metropolitan statistical area. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated its population as of July 1, 2009 at 2,226. It is not the actual North Pole.
The actual Norh Pole is, of course in Canada. There are only two residences. one a factory compound run by a Turkish immigrant and housing over 5,000 live-in and apparently indigenous workers and the other a stately residence owned as a second home by extra-terrestrial named Kal-el who uses the Terran aliases of Clark Kent and Superman.
Femme, i believe the stately home you are referring to is the "Fortress of Solitude" Always remember Superman flying in with the giant key. I guess it was too big to fit in his pocket, providing his spandex outfit had a pocket to begin with.
He lives on the geographic North Pole. The magnetic North Pole moves, I think that would be too much work for him and the Mrs...always relocating while there are presents to be made and coal to be dug!

Gotta love spandex! And Superman has such a magnetic personality....
Strangely enough, I just found out that my new son-in-law actually lived in North Pole! Although I knew that he had grown up in Alaska I had did not know where. So the HOH OHO is on me!
