eIS using Ascendia to the US - Huge Mistake

eIS is using Ascendia as a service. That's great for Shein and Temu, not so for buyers paying a premium to receive their items.

Ascendia is using a company called GoFo in the US for last mile delivery. They destroyed a 300$ tape deck I shipped (obviously eIS refunded the buyer), and now I have a 200$ watch movement in their wonderful hands. Praying to God it makes it to the buyer and in one piece. The tape deck was very well packaged - been shipping electronics for 10 years. And what is up with high dollar items having last mile handled by a cut rate crowd sourced service?

As well there are several posts regarding items not being delivered after long periods (some 30 days and counting) by other sellers in Facebook groups where eIS shipped via Ascendia. Not sure if GoFo was the last mile carrier in those instances.

eIS team: jettison Ascendia, like NOW. They are beyond terrible for the reputation of us sellers and the program in general!

I had a buyer purchase an item and got a discount but I don't understand where or how.

The item was originally $120.

I MAY have marked it down to $110 (if I do a sell similar that's the number it has so I presume I marked it down)

It sold for $100

I don't mind because it was a 5 year plus running item, to a long time repeat buyer, but I don't understand how the other $10 discount happened.

It is very likely that I sent out offers or something?

What I'm really looking for is how to identify how the actual paid price was arrived at, ie if a coupon was used or an offer accepted etc.

80% chance "age" (of me) is a factor here but there should be some way to see what was used for the discount by the buyer....

Sold a book (Canada to USA) and buyer got hit with huge duty fee. I thought used books are duty free

I sell a lot of books on eBay, often shipping to the USA from Canada. To my knowledge, none of my buyers have been hit with big duty/import fees. I believe books are duty-free.

Anyway, I sold a book to a buyer in the USA for $580 USD. I shipped via UPS Standard as I always do, and they are now being told they need to pay $245 USD to get the book. That's a crazy amount! That's like almost half the value of the book.

The buyer refuses to accept the book, but still WANTS it, so they asked me to contact UPS. I reached out and they told me to fill out a form so I did, and now I'm waiting to hear back, but I'm not very hopeful.

I'm not sure why this happened, again, since books are duty free. I included the proper HTS code for books as I usually do. I'm hoping UPS has made an error in classifying the item.

Has anyone had this happen before? What is the likely outcome? Also, if the buyer refuses will the book be sent back to me? And if so, will I have to pay the $245 USD? What a headache of a situation.

I'm trying to create a seller's account for a charity I am representing. Ebay is not accepting page 1 of the business info I've entered, but it's not specifying which info it's not accepting. It's all correct. Customer support is telling me I have to register with paypal's giving fund, meanwhile the ebay Charity FAQ and steps on creating a new charity account (www.ebayforcharity.org/get-involved/direct-selling/) doesn't list that as a step or requirement. I'd rather not involve paypal if I don't have to. Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Thanks in advance.

About Bogus CPC Charges

I'm wondering if anyone else has had the following experience. About a month ago at 3:15 AM I had two charges from CPO for $3.96 which is the amount I pay for parcel pickup but I did not order those pickups. I called the PO and got a ticket number but didn't hear back from them. Last night I had a bogus CPC charge for $2.25

I just called them again and they haven't bothered to look into it yet, but I'm concerned about why or how the PO is just randomly billing me for something I didn't order or buy.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Counteroffers - Where do they go?

Hi,

As a Canadian seller I do receive offers from US buyers on occasion. I have resorted to mentioning the fact that there may be duties and brokerage fees when I send my counteroffers.

Today I received an offer that was acceptable to me. I responded to the offer with a counteroffer in the same amount with a note that basically stated I am OK with the price offered and advising the buyer that there will be duties and brokerage fees due either before or on delivery.

I went on to state that if the buyer was in agreement with this then go ahead and accept my counter offer and I will ship via UPS.

The buyer accepted.

I cannot for the life of me find a record of my counteroffer with that note on eBay?

Does anyone know where the counter offers would be located?

Hi there. I haven't been on eBays forum for ages but here goes. I used to sell here on eBay just casually. I've collected a lot of things over the years and it's time to down size. I need to sell !! The only problem for me is all the changes for selling when it comes to paperwork, fees and the like. I have researched what I should be doing but can't find all the info that would make me feel comfortable to start selling again. I was just curious as to whether somebody could let me know the steps involved. The fees, tarriffs and what ever else is involved. I guess since I haven't sold anything for quite awhile I wasn't offered the chance to sell through eBay international and so I have to do it the old way! Thank you in advance!

Electronic Equipment Policy

Has anyone else had issues with eBay Canada's Electronic Equipment "Policy?" I have had 3 - 2 way radio listings pulled by ebay with them telling me they are "surveillance equipment" and cannot be sold on their platform. They are RADIOS AND HAVE NO ABILITY TO RECORD OR SURVEILL. I have submitted specs on the HT750 Portable, and CM300 and ICOM Mobiles to no avail. I don't believe anyone reads them. I can't believe the stupidity. They are directing me to Industry Canada's site. I have told them these radios are all FCC and DOC/Industry Canada approved for radio communications but might as well be talking to a wall. ebay Canada can call a frying pan surveillance equipment and without providing any criteria to justify it, you just have to live with it.

In the drop down when marking an item as sold there is a much longer list than when we see in the help section. There is an issue with GLS defaulting to GLS Germany

Interesting.

Especially since AI texts are not copyrightable.

Perhaps eBay is concerned that the information would be hallucinatory as so much AI "information" can be.

I have been noticing some kind of scam going on with multiple sellers using/reusing the same photos, and discription for unique items that can not be duplicated. In some cases the same seller even has the item listed twice, once as a buy now option and the other a auction. In one case said item I know to have been "sold" previously to another bidder.

UPS label forced instead of canada post

Just sold something and have an issue I have never had in my entire and long ebay years,

I only ship Canada post, I have never ever offered UPS. Now someone bought a lot from me, message said they pick canada post regular package to BC, BUT when I go printing label from ebay it an UPS one..... and other options are the other more expensive canada post options.

I suppose I will have to get my label directly from Canada post, not ebay.

I have no idea how this is even a thing, never ever had UPS as an option!! No UPS at all near me either.

Anyone has any idea what is going on

How do I amend my shipping on CD's which I sent offers? When I send offers of 10% to a buyer they cannot use the combined shipping part, I've had this problem before. Now a buyer wants to buy 4 CDs from me without jewel cases so I am able to ship them out for the same price as 1 CD. Should I just get him to pay for it all with the shipping and then refund the shipping on three of them? or is there a better way?

This is my first yeat selling on Ebay and I sold a few personnal computing/IT items this year. I sold 1 graphic card for about 2800 CAD and a few SSDs for 800 CAD each. I also sold 3 portable drives for 900 CAD each. I was wondering how to declare these personnal items on my tax return when it comes up? My total sales so far are 10 000$.
