If the seller didn't put enough postage on the item does it get returned to them?

I purchased a DVD from someone about 25 miles from me. It was a great price $4.00 with free shipping. Now I know that shipping of the item would cost $4.50 so the seller sold it at a loss. They stated they shipped it May 26. Because it is so close, it should have been here today at the latest it has been 5 working days. I suspect the buyer might have not put enough postage on it. Does it get returned to them or goes into the black hole.

Hmmm Zonos bots have changed how they interpret....

Virtually everything I send is postage stamps HS code 9704.00.0000

At times Zonos has changed what they come back with. What I've been typing in for months now is:

"Collector postage stamps" along with 9704.00.0000 (I don't take pictures I do it manually as I sell primarily groups of stuff).

Used to come back as:

"Used postage stamps collection"

Now it comes back as:

"Stamps, paper, ink, metal"

(I do not like the "metal" addition)

I tried many variations, even putting in:

"Used postage stamps collection"

Comes back with

"Stamps, paper, ink, adhesive"

Sadly I did not notice until today the new translation so a few have gone out with the metal aspect in them, although the HS code doesn't change and the duty is ZERO still as it should be.

Time will gell I guess... so keep an eye on what it comes back with these days!

I have seen post concerning this problem, but never with any diffinitive answer. I am trying to sell my old Amiga 600. (Niche item, most likely sold to U.S.) The computer is made in the Phillipines, the power supply and mouse are made in Malaysia, the pcmcia adapter and card are made in China. When I go to the listing page, it gives me one listing COO option. I was going to put Phillipines and add the other options when doing customs. Is this posible?

I do not yet qualify for EIS. Any thoughts for how to do this, who to ship with to accomodate all customs requirements

I had this listed, and ended it, realizing I was in over my head.

Thank you in advance for any thoughts!!

Hi,

A buyer in Brazil opened a case that the item has not arrived. When reviewing the tracking details, it looks like the item was presented to customs and was rejected and sent back to me because of missing CPF/CNPJ . What is my liability here as a seller? Is that information I should have included or was it the buyer's miss? Thank you

The DVD is currently being shipped back to me because the address in invalid. They forgot to add their apartment number. They still want the DVD and want me to re ship it and add their apartment number. I think i will have to buy another label so that's gonna cost me money. What is the proper way I should do things here?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
item removed - wrongfully flagged as policy violation - no appeal option: how to fix this?

eBay flagged an item as policy violation, but it clearly is just a misjudgement by an algorithm. No living being has ever reviewed this decision.

When I click the "resolve" button on the lusting, I only get a pamphlet about policy violations and bla bla bla, but the "Start Appeal" button is greyed out.

Until recent, eBay had a working support through Facebook messenger, which has been discontinued. And what they offer as support chat is a bot that only allows pre-defined questions.

How the heck is it possible to reach out to a real person, to get the problem resolved?

2 orders are stuck with cancellation requests from fake sellers and ebay can't cancel them

Hello,

I'm posting here in hopes that someone with a similar situation can give me some guidance. I made 2 purchases from 2 different sellers on the same day on May 11th (both were scammers and I should have known better, but I thought with the money back guarantee it wouldn't matter). That same day when I realized they were scammers, I did a cancellation request on both orders, which was never answered. The sellers never shipped the items, and their accounts were suspended the next day. So now the cancellation requests have been there since May11th, and I can't remove them, nor can the sellers accept or decline them since they're suspended. I spoke with support, they tried putting in an "item has not arrived" claim but they keep telling me their system gets stuck at the end and can't process the request.

More info:
-I used paypal's pay in 4 installments
-ETA date for the orders are between May 21st and June 1st

So now I'm stuck because the support team can't cancel the orders or start a "item not received request". Do I have to wait until the ETA date has passed, and made all my payments, before attempting an "item not received" request again? I even spoke with their leadership team and they told me they didn't know what was going on...

Is it just me or is UPS really sucking at delivery lately?

I recently shipped out three packages using UPS and literally ALL of them got delivered late. Looking at the tracking info was super frustrating as the packages just kept bouncing back and forth between the same location points for who knows why. And then when it was time to finally to deliver the item to the buyer, the item was reported as either damaged or lost.

Case in point (You can see that on May 1, the package was at Hodgkins, IL and then 5 days later it was returned to the same location for some reason)

Another case in point (This one was stuck at Delta BC for days and then the package is reported as lost)

And to think I paid extra to ship with UPS instead of Canada Post because UPS is supposed to be the faster shipping company. Infuriating. Has anyone else had problems with UPS lately or am I just unlucky? This isn't just a venting post by the way, I genuinely want to know if I should avoid using UPS in the near future lest there be a problem.

And if you have any additional information about this issue and your observations, the same please.

Can we get an official explanation of WHY eBay labels charges when billed are no longer matching what they were displayed as when the date they were created? This has been an ongoing issue since August of 2025.

In the past out of the several hundred labels I and others were creating the charges USED to match time the label when they got billed...even with any delays. Now almost every charge has being revised. That revision DOES NOT include a reasoning for the modification. Is it due to the delays in charges being processed.

My most recent charge the label was created May 21 and billed today. Original charge displayed was 12.42. Revised charge was 13.68. Buyer is paying as per invoice they receive. There is no way to recover these lost funds when the discrepancy is caused by eBay billing. It was going to the Canadian Hub on the eBay account associated to it.

I have explained and documented this to eBay CS back in Feb. They stated they clearly were seeing the same issue I was reported when they reviewed. With follow up I was told contact CP. CP replied with it was an eBay issue which it is. The generated bills have modified measurements that DO NOT match the label summary report.

I received minimal 2 credits at the end of April (As reported by others....quantity varies per user depending on services in play.) That was end of it for my credits.

Reiterating the above. In the past almost never a revised charged for labels always measured accurately and honestly.....After August 2025 inputted data suddenly was getting changed when the label prints causing the inaccurate charges. At bare minimum when a charge is revised (increased) it should ALWAYS include an explanation. This is normal business practice.

devon@ebay Please address.

Routine mandatory disclaimer. As a side from personal experience I have NEVER had ANY problems(revised charges) with international labels prior that being my default shipping method for intl. shipping. The current problems are expedited/expedited lite related with Canada Post. (UPS/Fedex reports experiences may vary...if you use. )

Seller sent wrong item, sent partial refund and has ignored my request for return/full refund

The seller sent me the incorrect item, I politely let them know and instead of accepting a return they sent a partial refund. I let them know that I would prefer to return it and receive a full refund, as I never would have bought what they sent me.

The partial refund blocked me from being able to open a return through ebay system on my end, and the seller stopped responding. I reached out to ebay live agents and they said they side with me and to request a shipping label from the seller. I did, and the seller never responded.

That was last week, so I reached out to ebay again today to let them know. Instead of receiving any support, however, they said there is nothing they can do and I "should have opened a return first instead."

I wanted to, and would have, but the seller clearly knew what they were doing. This is a scam, and ebay is fine with it.

To make it clear: Sellers are allowed to make a listing, post pictures, take payment and then send anything they want. They can then give you a partial refund and ebay will tell you "too bad."

This is disgusting that ebay allows this, and warrants a bigger look at what is going on.

eIS using Ascendia to the US - Huge Mistake

eIS is using Ascendia as a service. That's great for Shein and Temu, not so for buyers paying a premium to receive their items.

Ascendia is using a company called GoFo in the US for last mile delivery. They destroyed a 300$ tape deck I shipped (obviously eIS refunded the buyer), and now I have a 200$ watch movement in their wonderful hands. Praying to God it makes it to the buyer and in one piece. The tape deck was very well packaged - been shipping electronics for 10 years. And what is up with high dollar items having last mile handled by a cut rate crowd sourced service?

As well there are several posts regarding items not being delivered after long periods (some 30 days and counting) by other sellers in Facebook groups where eIS shipped via Ascendia. Not sure if GoFo was the last mile carrier in those instances.

eIS team: jettison Ascendia, like NOW. They are beyond terrible for the reputation of us sellers and the program in general!

International Buyers: Audit your Forwarder & Protect Purchases (Canadian Edition)

Hi everyone,

Before jumping into the guide, I want to give a special thanks to @marnotom! and @lotzofuniquegoodies. Their valuable insights and support during a recent discussion on the U.S. forum inspired me to adapt and share this blueprint directly with Canadian buyers who rely on freight forwarders or cross-border U.S. hubs to secure their purchases.

As international buyers, using a U.S.-based freight forwarder is an excellent way to access items that don’t ship directly to our locations. However, it also introduces a major logistical vulnerability: the eBay Money Back Guarantee (MBG) timeline.

Once a seller ships an item to the forwarder’s domestic address (whether in Florida, New York, or other border hubs), their tracking officially shows "Delivered." If the item turns out to be a "Not as Described" case, the seller is only obligated to provide a domestic return label. eBay's policy usually requires that label to be scanned within a strict 5-working-day window. If your forwarder is slow to process, ship, and deliver the package to your home country, you will easily miss that crucial window and lose your protection.

To prevent this, you should never blindly trust a forwarder. You must audit them beforehand to evaluate their internal operational speeds.

The best part? You don't need to speak English or contact U.S. warehouses directly to do this. Almost every major forwarder has local offices, customer service, or digital support channels (like WhatsApp or local email helpdesks) right in your home region. You can run this audit in your own language before making a purchase.

Here are the 4 critical questions you need to ask your forwarder’s local support channel before buying a high-value or vintage item:

1. The Intake Audit (Processing Speed)

The Question: "Once USPS/FedEx/UPS delivers a package to your U.S. warehouse, how many business hours does it take for the tracking status to update as 'Received' in my personal account dashboard?"

Why it matters: A slow intake means days are wasted before the package even begins its journey to you, cutting heavily into your 5-day eBay return window.

2. The Pre-Export Inspection Audit (The Safety Net)

The Question: "Do you offer a content verification or visual inspection service (checking the physical condition and taking photos) directly at the U.S. warehouse before the item is exported?"

Why it matters: This is your absolute best defense. If a bad seller sent a fake, a broken item, or an empty box, you want to catch it before it leaves the U.S. If the forwarder flags it at their warehouse, you can open an eBay claim immediately and use the domestic return label well within the 5-day limit.

3. The Expired Label Audit (Handling Logistics)

The Question: "If an eBay seller provides a domestic return label that expires in 5 days, what is your specific internal protocol to handle it? Can your U.S. warehouse print and apply that label if I email it to you?"

Why it matters: You need to know if they have the flexibility to act fast at the warehouse level. If they are bureaucratic or slow to respond to emails, you will lose the claim.

4. The Transit & Delivery Audit (Total Timeframe)

The Question: "What is the average transit time from the moment a package is marked 'Received' at the U.S. warehouse to the moment it is ready for pickup or delivery in my country?"

Why it matters: You need a clear, realistic timeframe. If their total shipping and customs clearance process takes weeks, you must accept that you are buying the item "as-is," because the eBay MBG window will be long gone by the time you open the box at home.

Conclusion

Don't wait for an expensive item to arrive broken to find out how your freight forwarder operates. Run this audit via their local customer service channels today. A truly reliable, professional forwarder will answer these questions clearly and provide the fast, local communication you need to keep your purchases safe!

Best regards.

I've recently won an auction, seller claims that they dropped a package at post office 4days ago, but Canada Post is showing "Electronic information submitted by shipper"

Could it mean that seller just wants to play with me and refund my order to try sell an item for better price or packege just havent been scanned at post office?
