US tariff update: US - Canada new tariff rates

As of Aug 22, 2026, the US has imposed an additional 50% tariff on certain Canadian goods sent to the US, including certain motor vehicles and auto parts. Importantly, the new 50% tariff will apply to goods that previously qualified for duty-free treatment under the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). In response, starting Sep 8, 2026, Canada will impose 15%, 25% and 50% tariffs on select US-origin goods This measure spans categories including beauty products, apparel, household goods (such as tableware, cutlery, household appliances, etc.), textiles, lighting, and lighting fixtures.  We’ll continue to monitor these changes and provide updates as needed.  Thank you for being part of the eBay community.

Drop off at the eIS hub

If you use eBay International Shipping (eIS), you now have another way to get your packages to our Mississauga hub and save on the cost of shipping them there. Instead of using a domestic carrier, you can drop off eligible eIS packages at the hub yourself, at no additional cost. How drop-off works When your item sells with eBay International Shipping, go to the Orders page on Seller Hub, and click the three-dot icon. Select “ Print packing slip and more ”, check “ Address label ”, and print. Package your item so it’s ready to ship, then bring it to the hub during drop-off hours. You can choose drop-off whenever it works for you. There’s no need to update your shipping policies or use this option for every eIS order. Where and when to drop off 2520 Royal Windsor Drive – Loading Door R-2 Mississauga, ON L5J 1K7 Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Excluding holidays Items must be packaged by the seller and ready to ship. Be sure to follow the drop-off instructions so your parcel can be accepted. What this means for you If you’re able to bring your packages to the Mississauga hub, drop-off gives you the flexibility to skip the domestic carrier and keep what you would otherwise spend shipping your package to the hub. No action is required. Drop-off is an optional way to send your eIS packages. Learn more Learn more about eIS Hub Drop-off .

Important policy update: Airbags no longer permitted on eBay

Effective September 24, 2026, airbags and airbag inflators are not permitted to be listed or sold on eBay by any seller. This policy applies across the entire airbag category. This decision was made following a comprehensive review of the risks these products may pose to eBay users.   What’s not allowed on eBay? The following standalone components are no longer allowed: Airbags Airbag inflators (gas generators) Steering wheel airbag covers   Outside the United States, all sellers may continue to list permitted airbag-related parts that do not contain an airbag or inflator (listed below). In the United States, the sale of these permitted parts is restricted to sellers who are currently pre-approved. Airbag control unit Airbag crash sensor (impact sensor) Diagnostic module Passenger sensor   What you need to do Review your active, scheduled and draft listings in the affected categories Remove any listings mentioned above by September 24, 2026.   You will have 30 days to comply with this new policy. If these listings are not removed by September 24, 2026, eBay will remove them on your behalf. Any listings you remove yourself, or that eBay removes for you as part of this update, will not negatively affect your account’s policy compliance history. Relisting these items may result in selling restrictions.   Need help? You can review our Vehicle Related Policy on eBay Help, or contact our team if you have questions. We’re here to support you through this change. Thank you for your prompt attention to this update. — The eBay Team

Certain additional tariffs continue to apply where applicable depending on the item's country of origin. For the latest country-specific rates, see the official US government guidance . Upload energy labels and product information sheets as PDFs

If you sell eligible energy-related products in the EU or the UK, you're required to provide energy labelling and product performance information in your listings. This includes products such as electrical appliances, light sources, smartphones and tablets, and tires. Providing this information helps buyers make informed purchasing decisions and keeps your listings compliant. You can now upload your energy label and product information sheet as either PDF documents or images under the Item Disclosures section when creating or revising eligible listings. Previously, these documents could only be uploaded as images. What you need to do Upload your energy label and product information sheet in either PDF or image format Make sure PDF files are 10 MB or smaller Check any Good 'Til Cancelled listings to ensure they include the required energy labelling information, as older listings may need updating to remain compliant Include the correct energy efficiency information for eligible products If you manage listings through a third-party provider, please check with them directly on how to upload your energy label and product information sheet in PDF or image format As a reminder, these regulations may also apply to refurbished and secondhand products. For more details, visit the European Commission's website for guidance. Providing complete and accurate energy efficiency information helps buyers make informed purchasing decisions. Listings that are missing required energy efficiency information may be hidden from buyers or unavailable for purchase. For more information, visit our Help page . Thanks for being part of the eBay community.

New EU customs duty now in effect for low-value imports

Starting July 1, 2026, the European Union has introduced a new customs duty of €3 on imported items valued under €150. To help ensure a smooth buying and selling experience, eBay has updated its import fee experience for eligible transactions and will continue to support cross-border trade into the EU. What this means for sellers  Due to these changes in EU customs requirements, Canada Post label purchases on eBay are temporarily unavailable for shipment to the EU. Sellers should purchase their shipping label directly from their carrier to complete their shipment. For sellers using eBay International Shipping (eIS), applicable import fees, including any customs duties, will continue to be handled as part of the program. Buyers will pay applicable import fees at checkout and should not be charged additional import fees at delivery. For sellers using their own shipping methods, carriers may collect applicable import fees as part of the import process. Some carriers may begin requiring duties-prepaid shipping, also known as Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), into the EU for certain services or destinations. Sellers should check with their shipping provider regarding any new EU requirements, and review their pricing and shipping arrangements, as appropriate. What this means for buyers For items shipped through eBay International Shipping (eIS), applicable import fees will be shown at checkout and buyers should not be charged additional import fees at delivery. For items shipped using a seller's own shipping method, carriers may collect applicable import fees as part of the import process. Depending on the shipping service used, buyers may be contacted by the carrier about applicable import fees before delivery. Delivery times may also be longer than usual during the initial implementation period as carriers and customs authorities adjust to the new requirements. What’s next? We will continue to monitor the implementation of the new EU requirements and provide updates as additional guidance becomes available. We encourage sellers to check back regularly for the latest information. As always, our goal is to make international trade as simple as possible. Please note that the €3 customs duty applies per unique item under the applicable EU customs rules. For more information, see the European Commission’s guidance page . Thank you for being part of the eBay community.

EU Right to Repair Directive: What business sellers need to know

Starting July 31, 2026, when a EU buyer contacts you about a faulty item and asks for a remedy, you must offer a choice of repair or replacement. If they choose a repair, your warranty period is extended by 12 months. This applies to all general goods.   What you need to do   1. For general goods: If you are a business seller offering goods to buyers in the EU, and a EU buyer invokes their statutory rights during the warranty period, you have the following responsibilities: If an item is reported as faulty or not as described, you must offer the buyer a choice between repair or replacement. If a buyer chooses a repair, the warranty period for the item is extended by an additional 12 months. You must also inform the buyer of this extension before you conduct a repair. We recommend reviewing and updating your warranty processes and all published policies to reflect this. Purchases made before July 31, 2026 are not subject to these requirements.   2. Additional requirements for certain products listed in Annex II:     For certain products, in the categories listed in Annex II of the Directive - including washing machines, washer-dryers, fridges, dishwashers, TVs, vacuum cleaners, tumble dryers, welding equipment, smartphones, tablets, cordless phones, servers and data storage products, and products that include batteries for light electric vehicles (such as e-bikes, e-scooters, and similar devices) - additional requirements may apply. These requirements apply if you are the EU-based manufacturer. If the manufacturer is outside the EU, someone in the EU must take over its repair obligation. This will be the manufacturer’s EU authorized representative, or if there is none, the importer, or if there is no importer, the distributor. For goods listed in Annex II Check the EU Ecodesign rules for your products to understand which spare parts, repair information, and services you must offer, and how long they must remain available. Offer repair services for the duration of your repair obligation. On eBay, publish repair information, including details about coverage, repair options, and typical repair prices. You can make this information available through seller notes, the item description field, and/or the order confirmation email. If Annex II repair obligations don’t apply to you, you may still want to help your buyers by informing them who they should contact for a repair. Thank you for selling on eBay.
