Duty after Paying Taxes
I live in Canada and I bought earbuds from a seller from the States. During checkout, eBay billed for taxes but during import, I was requested to pay for duty, includes taxes and custom clearance fee. Is this normal or is there a way to get a refund on the duty?

·2 weeks ago · EditedDuty fees are not sales taxes. The taxes you see there are most likely for the custom brokerage service.
And no, they are not refundable.

OP2 weeks agoThat's not exactly what I'm seeing. There's the tax on the import, that doesn't have any additional tax, and then the brokerage fee that does have tax on it
So for example, this is what I'm seeing on the receipt
Import tax (no additional tax)
Customs clearance fee (has tax)

The second one is the brokerage fee, and that's taxable.
