EBay delivery time !!!
Summary: pansy19 expressed frustration over a long eBay delivery estimate for an item shipped with Canada Post (CP) and questioned the accuracy of eBay's projected delivery dates. mrdutch1001 and lotzofuniquegoodies explained that the shipping delays and extended delivery estimates are due to a CP strike and that the estimates are conservative, considering potential delays caused by the backlog of packages. Participants like femmefan1946 advised buying locally to avoid such delays, though pansy19 clarified they couldn't buy locally due to availability. Some other users, like aarynchan, shared similar concerns with packages stuck due to postal disruptions and backlog processing at customs.
I bought an Item yesterday from BC value over $ 500
The Seller choosed CP to ship .
Ebay shows delivery time February 12/25
How ebay knows when Item will be delivered ? Almost 2 months waiting from Province to Province .
Wish I can cancel order , but Seller was so fast to create label with CP .
And ebay stated shiped when Item is not shipped, only label created .

·1 year agoI have an item shipped by USPS to Canada and it got stuck in NY warehouse since Dec 3. Still no movement as of today. CP has started taking new parcels, why hasn't my package moved?

·1 year agoThat said, the latest update from the USPS newsroom states that USPS is still not accepting items bound for Canada and is monitoring the backlog. What this means for items stuck in the system is anyone’s guess.

·1 year agoAfter the strike was announced USPS put international parcels coming to Canada on hold. Your parcel is one of many that need to be processed. There will be the same type of large quantities hitting Canada as they are released by customs. Causes delays all along the processing line.

·1 year agoIf the item is tracked you can see the last place it was recorded.
Not where it currently is.
Canada Post is not accepting new packages until Thursday, so they might be putting a push on moving those they already have in hand.
Better to be told it will arrive in February and have it arrive before the New Year, than to be told December 23 and have it appear on December 24.

·1 year agoWith or without labour disruptions, when there is a close deadline, like Christmas, it is best to shop locally.

Due to the postal strike eBay has been updating delivery times to Canadian sellers listings. Building in extra trime because there was no firm date for strike to end. The estimate is most likely longest possible estimate available. Patience is always required at this time of year. Seller may have also added additional handling time for added leeway. This would also inflate the numbers shown. In checking one of your listings delivery is showing mid January to Calgary.

OP1 year agoI ship all the time during CP strike using Purolator and UPS and will continue until February until CP starts to works normaly .
My customers get order in one week .
What you see in my listings are CP shipping which I wasn't able to edit ..
Mid. January is fine, Middle Feb. is not acceptable.
Thank you.

·1 year agoPerhaps your seller was unable to edit the shipping method in their listing, as well.
Have you contacted the seller to find out how they plan to ship the item?

·1 year agoDue to the CP strike, eBay extended all estimated shipping dates, and all shipping companies made USA & International shipments a priority over domestic. Now that CP has the huge task to clear the backlog, delays will still continue well into January. There is no way for CP or eBay to accurately project any delivery dates at this time so the "guesstimate" will linger...Many sellers are of the mindset to generate the shipping label, and then ship whenever it is feasible to do so....Nothing is being accepted by the postal outlets until Thursday, and thereafter the shipping transit time and delivery time will emerge as mail shipments get processed into the postal system...
