I met a scammer
Summary: A participant purchased a ruby and diamond bracelet on eBay from seller callsunshinejewels_united, only to find it was not as advertised. When they tried to leave feedback, they discovered it was no longer possible due to time constraints, raising concerns about eBay's protection of certain sellers. reallynicestamps suggests considering a chargeback through the credit card if the eBay claim deadline was missed. marnotom! mentions the general 60-day feedback period and queries about the timeline. msau4301 notes that exceptions can occur, such as when a case is opened or decided in favor of the seller, which might limit feedback options.
I spent $580.00 on a certified ruby and diamond chain tennis bracelet from eBay seller callsunshinejewels_united. A gemologist inspected the certificate and found discrepancies between the information on the bracelet and the actual item, implying the seller was a scam. However, since I discovered this too late and the return window had closed, I couldn't get a refund. So I tried to post feedback for my purchase to alert other buyers, but ridiculously, I can't even do that because it says:
Unfortunately, this purchase is no longer eligible for feedback.
I'm just wondering why the time limit for leaving feedback on this item has become so short. I still have feedback for some items I've purchased before, and this item was purchased on June 7th. Today is July 30th, less than two months ago. Why is the time limit so limited?
Does this mean that eBay is protecting certain sellers for some unknown reason?

·1 year agoAs marnotom says you should be allowed to leave feedback up to 60 days.
There are some exceptions when a case is opened. Not sure but if the seller wins a case the buyer may not be allowed to leave feedback. Even though you say the return window closed did you attempt to open a case? If so it may have been closed automatically because of the time frame for refunds and if the buyer had the case closed that may be the reason.

·1 year agoAre you still able to view the listing? I can find a listing for a tennis bracelet that was purchased on June 8, but I'm not sure if it's the one you purchased or not because of the date discrepancy.
Also, when did you receive the bracelet? You're supposed to have 60 days after receiving the item to leave feedback, according to this eBay Help Page:

·1 year agoHow did you pay?
If you missed the eBay deadline for aClaim , did you also pass the Chargeback deadline for your credit card.
Feedback is irrelevant.
No one is ever required to leave feedback and eBay does not use it to assess member accounts.
Claims are allowed for 30 days from delivery.
Open a Claim immediately.
The seller will be required to send you Return Shipping and refund on arrival.
Credit cards allow longer for chargebacks.with most allowing 120 days from Payment and some 180 days.

OP1 year agoI missed the deadline to submit a claim, so I wanted to leave a feedback to warn other buyers about this seller, but eBay's system won't even let me do that, which is why I'm so frustrated.
