I need help with a return case that appears to be stuck in eBay’s system
Summary: mms-8294 is experiencing an issue with a return case on eBay that seems to be stuck in the system. john_koenig99 responded but did not provide any additional details or solutions in their reply.
The item I received was significantly not as described (listed as new, but I received a used and defective item). I opened a return request, and the seller accepted the return.
However, the return cannot actually be completed. The seller provided a return label that appears to be usable only within the US, even though this is an international return from Canada to the US. More concerning, the shipping label shows both the sender and the recipient as the seller. I do not know whether this was intentional, but it certainly does not appear to be a workable return solution.
eBay previously indicated that I would be able to ask eBay to step in starting May 21, but the “Ask eBay to step in” option does not appear in my return case. Instead, I am being sent in circles with the chatbot, which provides no actual assistance.
At this point, the return is marked as accepted, but there is no realistic way for me to complete it. A return that cannot actually be completed is not a real resolution. I need eBay to intervene and provide a workable solution.

·4 months agoMost likely rhe part about asking ebay to step in does not appear anymore because the seller accepted the return. As you said, the issue seems to be with the return label provided.
I suppose this item was purchased and sent directly from the seller to you, and not via eIS; otherwise the label would have been usable, in all likelihood.
When you use the chat help, indicate that you need to speak to an agent. They will likely call you or email you, and hopefully they would be help you with this issue. I don't know if eBay customer service is still available through social media (Facebook or Instagram), or if they closed that, the way they did it in the US.
