I was supposed to receive an item 7 months ago. It hasnt shipped and ebay refuses to refund it.
Summary: spre_9592 reported an unresolved issue with a purchase where they did not receive an item through eBay and were unable to secure a refund despite opening a case. They suspect they might have made an error since it was their first purchase on the site, but have since decided to stop using eBay due to this experience. Other participants provided responses, but the specifics of their input are not detailed.
I bought a psp on september 2 2025 for around 170$. It was supposed to arrive on september 9. I have not received it. it hasnt even shipped. ive been trying for months to get my money back. I sent a request for a cancelation and refund and the seller denied it. On the order tracking page its stuck on "paid" since september 2. I contacted the seller numerous times and he only responded on november 6 and 8 that he will get back to me on the next monday. Im lost and I dont know what to do. Any help is appreciated.

·4 months ago@spre_9592 Most credit cards only allow chargebacks for 120 days, some for 180 days.
One exception is American Express, but eBay no longer accepts AmEx payments, nor do many merchants for just that reason.
But try for a chargeback anyway. If you don't ask, they can't say yes.
In future, only pay with a credit cards (not e-transfer, or debit card, or Paypal balance) when buying online. Anywhere online.
And mark estimated delivery date on your calendar so you can act fast if things go pear-shaped.

·4 months agoeBay protection is for 30 days after last delivery day estimate.
You could have opened an Item-Not-Received case and gotten your money refunded since it was not delivered. Based on your post that refund period would have been from September 10 to October 9. Too late for that now.
If you paid with credit card, you can check to see if you can still open a chargeback claim for item not delivered. However, at 7 months most credit cards will not allow a chargeback -- but you should check to see if your credit card has a longer claim period. Do this immediately if you paid by credit card.

OP1 month agoHi, thank you for your answer. I don't really remember quite well at this point it's almost been a year since I've bought it but I do remember filling an item not received case. It said something like waiting for sellers response and the seller didn't respond so it closed my case. Maybe I did something wrong as it was my first eBay purchase ever but anyways I learned my lesson I've pretty much moved on but I'm most definitely never using this website again.

OP1 month agoOh my mistake I tried to cancel for the "won't arrive on time" reason instead of "item not received" Rookie mistake on my part.

·4 months agoSorry, but the timeframe for any further action has passed and you have no other resources to draw from> Unfortunately, there is no further help to be had. This transaction is now dead in the water, so you will have to forget it and move on, as difficult as that may be...but that's the end of the line on this situation.
