Good Day
I recently made a purchase on ebay , I thought everything was fine untill I realized that there appears to be no one on the other end (buyer). After 10 day and no responses I began to feel as if I was being scammed yet again. so after seeing that the parcel still had not shipped ,I decided to cancel the order...Ebay said they contacted the buyer and the buyer refuses to cancel order even though the item has not shipped. I do not beleive Ebay because the buyer after ten days and many messages sent...no reply. Now I am at 12 days still nothing. The suggested/estimated delivery time was stated as follows (Est. delivery Mon, Feb 23 - Fri, Mar 13).
Ebay says if it does not get delivered by the 13th of March to file a not received claim... My problem is if you do an online search regarding this issue You soon see this happens often..People have stated that the buyer will continue to move the shipping dat draging the transaction out for Months by continuing to chage the shipping dates...There must be another way to get my funds returned. I also noticed that the reveiws I went by regarding the seller were actually not even the seller's but reveiws placed by ebay.. the actual seller has no reveiws..that is shifty in itself...One thing for sure..If Ebay is going to defend sellers like this I will be making sure this is the last purchase I will make using the ebay platform and I will also make sure all of my freinds read about it acrss 7 public platforms...totally unacceptable practice of a seller. There should be no issue requesting a refund after 10 plus days of no responses and no shipment of item. Can My bank Help in reteiving the funds I wonder ? because clearly ebay is no help at all at this point and this is the same for many other buyers..I have read.

·5 months agoIt's possible that while eBay is saying the buyer refused the cancellation request it probably just means they didn't reply back to them either (just ignored it) and they consider that a refusal. While it certainly seems unfair to have to wait so long I think it's because although item is not shown as shipped it's always possible the person shipped it outside of eBay and never updated/marked it shipped (for some English is not their first language and things are lost in translation). As other have said you probably have to wait it out until March 13th. But look at the bright side you'll be able to leave real feedback, not just the eBay generated reviews.
If you used a credit card you could do a chargeback with them if eBay didn't issue the refund but you asked if the bank can help, if you used your debit/bank card I don't think the bank does it. I remember having a problem getting a refund when I used by bank card but that was way back in the days of PayPal so the credit went there as they said it couldn't go to my bank (would have went to a credit card). That was quite a while back though, things may have changed.

·5 months agoA credit card chargback is a possibility.
For any online shopping it is important only to use credit cards because debit cards/cheques, cash, money orders, e-transfers, and Paypal balances are basically not refundable.

Define "often".
Once every 20 sales? Once every 20,000,000 sales?
reveiws I went by regarding the seller were actually not even the seller's but reveiws placed by ebay.. the actual seller has no reveiws..that is shifty in itself...
Not really.
Less than 40% of transactions get any feedback.
EBay recently gave in to needy sellers asking for automatic feedback when the buyer had not left any AND no problems had been reported by buyers.
So those automatic FBs , which are marked as such, do actually represent successful transactions.
Annoying as it is, I would counsel you to wait unti the last estimated date for delivery then open a Claim.
Because, if an eBay Claim fails, you can fall back on the chargeback, but if you start a chargeback eBay will not entertain a Claim. This is to prevent double dipping.
EBay gave you about 30 days for delivery (Feb 12 to March12)? That's pessimistic, but based on over 40 years in mail order selling, not unusual. From Europe usually takes less time, domestic about two weeks, and from China or the USA 20 to 30 days.
Have you heard about snow in the Eastern USA?

·5 months agoAs mentioned, the shipping deadline is given by eBay, no by the seller. They can't really "move" the date, unless they can prove that they shipped the item with tracking, and something out of their control occurred (like the infamous CP strikes stunts of the past year and a bit).
I had once a similar problem with a seller from Israel. The order was never shipped (despite numerous attemps from my part to contact them). I had to wait six weeks just until past the delivery deadline. Filed a claim, got the refund the same day (well, the money back to my CC in 5 days). Left a negative review and that was the end of it.

·5 months agoYou are the buyer -- the other party is the seller.
A seller can not drag out the shipping date given at time of purchase.
eBay may adjust the shipping time, but that is usually only for tracked items.
