Misleading picture
Summary: ramyav55 placed an order for what they thought was a set of 3 water bottles due to the first picture showing 3 bottles, but the description indicated it was for one. They discovered this after the item was shipped and are concerned about the cost of returning the item from Ontario, Canada to Florida, USA, due to shipping and customs fees. The seller is willing to refund if returned, but ramyav55 is unsure of any responsibility the seller has for the misleading picture. msau4301 suggests that sellers often show multiple bottles to display different colors or sizes and notes that it is common for sellers to require an item back before issuing a refund. They recommend opening a claim of 'Item Not as Described' if the product does not meet expectations upon arrival.
Hi,
I placed an order for what I thought was 3 water bottles. The first picture showed 3 bottles and the second picture showed one. The description says it was for one water bottle. I noticed the very next day but the seller had already shipped. I am in Ontario, Canada and the seller has shipped from Florida, USA. He is willing to refund if I return the package to him. There is an option on USPS.com to intercept the shipment but he has not responded to confirm he is willing to do it. To do a return, i would need to pay for customs, taxes etc. and the return shipping. Is there anything someone can suggest I do to make it a less expensive mistake. Has the seller no responsibility in regards to not posting misleading pictures (although his description is okay)?

·1 year agoThe seller may not have been trying to be misleading showing the main picture with more than one water bottle. I searched water bottles here and almost every seller shows multiple bottles even though they are only selling one. It is usually to show different colours, sizes, styles, etc. Did the ad head say bottles or bottle?
Those selling more than one seem to say "set" or quantity right in the headline.
It's too bad you didn't notice it sooner (before shipped) as it could have been cancelled easily.
It is common for seller to request item back before refunding but the cost as you say for return shipping and possible taxes, etc. would probably be too high to warrant it.
You may be able to open an Item Not as Described after you have received the item, since technically it is not what you were expecting but you can't do that until you have the item in your hands.
