Received wrong item and got a refund; seller sent a right item afterwards. How to pay seller now?
Summary: benlebb shared their experience of receiving the wrong item from a seller on eBay, for which they initiated a return, got a refund, but then still received the correct item. They are seeking advice on how to repay the seller. marnotom! affirmed that asking the seller to send a PayPal invoice is a good solution, while flipistics suggested asking the seller to repost the item on eBay for repurchase. Both responses support doing the right thing by paying the seller back.
I made a purchase and the item I received was not the one I ordered. So I initiated a return, sent the item back and got a refund. The seller sent the right item anyways which I received a few days after getting the refund. I now have the item I have initially purchased and also a refund for it.
How to pay the seller now? I would prefer doing this through Ebay but can't find how to do this and don't see a “close return” option. Should I ask the seller to send me an invoice in PayPal and then pay?

·1 year agoIf you want to do it through eBay, you could ask the seller to repost the item and you can purchase it again. The seller can then just mark it as shipped.

·1 year agoThat seems to be the way to do it. Good job figuring it out, and good on you for doing the right thing. 👍
