I won a no-reserve auction for an item that was 1,00$ with free shipping. The seller then cancelled my order under "Buyer asked to cancel" (which I did not request) and didn't send me a message about it. I reached out to the seller, but they haven't answered. I'm guessing the seller cancelled the order because the item didn't sell for as high as they'd like. I understand that at 1,00$ they are losing money on the sale, but why start an auction at 1,00$ with free shipping knowing that that could be where it ends if they don't like the outcome. Is this common? Am I able to leave negative feedback or report to eBay?

·1 week agoI would not go out of my way to hurt the seller, not for this. If you were the seller in this case, would you not want the buyer to let it slide without the neg or neutral?

·2 weeks agoOr............throw the seller a bone, let it go and hopefully they will have learned the perils of that kind of auction (which I believe eBay continues to encourage)

·3 weeks agoReport them to eBay. Make sure you clearly state that you DID NOT ask for it to be cancelled and want the item. They should get a strike against their account. You can also leave negative feedback.

·2 weeks agoYes, you can. I've had the chance to do such negative reviews but decided against it, given they were really rookie sellers. Hopefully they've learned the lesson.
