Seller sent 2 tracking number for 1 product. New Scam method?

I’m from Canada, bought item from a seller in China. Normally delivery is like 20-30 days.
Seller have no feedback.
The seller ship the item but provide a DHL tracking from Hong Kong to Hong Kong.
Then he send another tracking from China to Canada.
He said they need to ship it to the warehouse and from the warehouse it will send to Canada.
Which don’t make sense. Why need 2 tracking ?
Now my order show Deliver but if check tracking there 2 tracking.
Is the seller try to run down the discute time claim? Is it a scam?

·9 months agoI disagree. The post is not even a year old, and the OP never confirmed what happened to his order. Maybe the person reopening the thread is in a similar conundrum.

Good point.
Was the item purchased on dotCA (here, where there is no tariff on Chinese imports, just duty over $20Cdn) or on dotCOM,where there is apparently a 10% tariff on everything landing in the USA?

·1 year agoNote the last estimated date for arrival on your calendar.
If the purchase has not arrived by then, you can be refunded under eBay's Money Back Guarantee.
If there are two packages (which is unlikely -the scammer would have to pay twice for that and the point of a scam is to make money with the least effort) and one has the wrong contents, you can be refunded under eBay's Money Back Guarantee.
In addition to the MBG, you are covered by the chargeback provisions of your credit card, but go to eBay first. They are fast and simple, and you would still have the chargeback as a backup/appeal.

·1 year agoDon't panic yet, it is not uncommon for some sellers to send to a warehouse or forwarder before it makes its way to you. Even eBay used to show two tracking numbers when they used the Global Shipping program, one the seller would use to send to eBay's Kentucky warehouse, then one to send to me here in Canada. I also remember panicking the first time I saw "delivered" to Enlarger Kentucky when I didn't have it, but the second tracking number was the correct one to track the status. It may take a couple of days for the warehouse to do anything with it, since they are most likely sending a large group of packages out together to make it more economical.
The thing to worry about is not that there were two tracking numbers (this does happen sometimes even with reputable sellers), the bigger worry is that he has no feedback. If he has responded to you already about the warehouse there it is a good sign, silence is never good.
If you don't have your package by the estimated delivery date you can open a claim then, you can't open one before that. Keep an eye on the second tracking number.

OP1 year agoBut what I’m worry is that dispute time. I believe eBay have a 30 days windows once it deliver to dispute.
Right now package mark as deliver since the first tracking show deliver.
Second tracking still show update.
So if the package is receive after 30 days, I am done for? No more dispute possible.

·1 year agoIf the second shipping is still showing updates you should be okay, it's the second one that is most recent.
I'm assuming the first tracking delivery date just happened which triggered your concern so it should not yet be near the 30 days yet (I hope!) I would think the second tracking would have some more updates soon as it moves along and would be proof that it is the correct tracking. With things probably taking longer from China with all the Tarriff stuff make a note of the 30 day mark though so you can open case in time if need be.
