Absolutely 💯 the worst company last year a bunch of packages were found tossed in the bushes and had to be handed out by the rcmp, the entire company has an issue where I'm at they are running out of a basement they said they couldn't find my house exactly 7 minutes after it was supposed to be delivered
In December 2024, residents in Cedar, Shawnigan Lake, and other parts of Vancouver Island reported a large-scale issue where packages were discarded like "garbage" instead of being delivered.
Discovery: Residents found parcels—many containing Christmas gifts from online retailers like Temu—dumped in ditches, public parks, and parking lots.
Delivery Status: Customers received notifications that their items were "delivered," often accompanied by photos of unrecognizable driveways or random roadsides.
Responsible Party: The courier service involved was StraightShip. The company stated it was investigating its "last mile" delivery partners and would take action to remove drivers who failed to meet standards.
one of those last mile services was uniuni, another was dragonfly (one specific driver no longer employed)
theres a huge list of last mile services on vancouver island that have issues but uniuni is the worst one
Interesting. I’m on Vancouver Island and my wife and I have yet to have anything delivered to us by UniUni. I thought they were a Lower Mainland thing. Do you have a link to a news article on those ditched packages?
UniUni uses gig workers rather than actual trained workers for its delivery services. While cheaper than an actual workforce, it can be problematic. You may find this news article to be interesting:

·5 months agoI was able to find a CHEK News piece in the vein of what you posted but UniUni isn’t mentioned in it, at least by name.
