·1 year agoAny packages being forwarded to Canada that would normally have been transferred to and picked up by Canada Post would have been halted and with held during the CP postal disruption...it is at those larger sortation facilities were there are still backlogs of mail....

What is the last estimated date for delivery? Has that date passed?
If it has you have 30 days from that date to open an Item Not Received claim (INR) with eBay.
Because of the strike, both Canada Post and many couriers were not able to make deliveries and eBay extended the arrival dates.
Mention in the Claim that the seller used eIS and the parcel was accepted by them (do NOT use the word 'delivered' because the robots are stupid) on Oct 30 or whatever.
If eIS cannot prove Delivery (not forwarding, delivery) you will be refunded by eIS.
This has nothing to do with your seller, whose responsibility ended when the eIS worker accepted the shipment.
This is part of eBay's Money Back Guarantee.
If the 30 day deadline has passed, go to the credit card you really paid with and open a chargeback. Again, say that this was an eIS shipment, because the chargeback will be processed by eBay.
If you don't mention eIS, the seller, who did nothing wrong, will lose your payment not eIS who are responsible.
EIS does not want the item. It may show up, late, on your doorstep, after the refund. You need do nothing about this.

·1 year agoI'm in Canada and I'm experiencing the same issue with two items. Did anyone get lucky and get their item delivered, or has it gone missing? It has been three weeks with no update on the tracking, and it is stuck at Glendale. Please let me know your experience. What is the average wait time that people experience? Then I shall say the package is missing.

·2 years agoSo, a lot of people are saying don't pay attention to the tracking unless the parcel hasn't updated or arrived by the very last estimated day on your checkout page, and I get that, I don't worry until it happens. Ok, so what happens then, other than Ebay beginning a refund process? As many customers have indicated, they don't want a refund, they want their item. Is it time to panic? Is there ever an incidence where an item is late arriving by 2, 3 weeks or more, or does it just get lost, broken, stolen...in the ether? I have had over 200 items successfully arrive through the GSP, and recently 2 items, same brand, very old, in exceptional condition, both things that many museums of decorative arts would covet, have stalled at the Glendale Heights hub, and so far no updates from Ebay. One is past the last date of arrival now, the second is dangerously close to it. I am not one to believe in conspiracy theories, but I also find coincidences like this a little difficult to swallow.

·2 years agoI can update in this case that it appears to have been simply system not updating tracking information during the handoffs; Ebay customer service emailed today to say that a Canadian courier has issued a tracking number late last night, it just wasn't appearing on the item purchase info. So fingers crossed I may still see my wonderful antique.

·2 years ago@bookbug82, a good third-party site to use for shipments where multiple carriers are used is Parcelsapp. Sometimes, it's able to tie together the various tracking numbers used in these shipments better than eBay's system can and may also show tracking events or tracking numbers that eBay's system doesn't. It's worth a shot in instances where the tracking appears to have dead-ended in Glendale Heights.

·2 years agoThanks, I'll check that one out. I've used Universal Parcel Tracking, and that usually does the trick but it didn't do it for this last shipment. I think contacting Ebay was the right move as 24 hours later a tracking number was sent to me; My parcel landed at Glendale Heights in the evening hours of *July 3* so I'm certain that the fact that one of the most imp national holidays of the year there the following day somehow impacted the 10-12 delay without any movement.

·2 years agoI suspect a lot of things have an impact on the movement of items through the Glendale Heights hub, @bookbug82, such as weekends, holidays, if there were too many workers going to the latest Cubs game, and the position of the moon. 🤪
Now that you should have two--maybe three--tracking numbers in your **bleep**nal [edit: "quiver" 🙄] you might want to use them all on Parcelsapp to see if they're linked in any way. And then forget about using them until a few days before your ability to file a claim for an undelivered item through the Money Back Guarantee program expires. 😁

Package just sitting at Glendale Heights for the last 2 weeks. I get that I will get a refund if I ask for one. But in my case, I want the package not the refund. And that's been the case all 3 times. I buy collectibles from US sellers to Canada through eBay and often I either find insane deals or I snag something "rare" which is a must-buy. And with my luck, 3 of these items now have been "lost" because of GSP. Worst part is, the last 2 times the item was actually confirmed to be at their international shipping centre but for some reason they didn't have my address. Apparently all they needed was the seller to intervene and confirm it. But that's too much work, the sellers just close the case and have eBay refund me.
Honestly, I don't know why the global shipping program exists. It has zero benefit to the buyer and 100% benefit to the seller. Not only does it take 3x longer to receive items in Canada from the US. But the cost of shipping is also 2-3x more than if they just dropped the package off themselves at post office. And why does it need to be re-routed!? Honestly, it's the only service that actually loses packages. I'm at the point now where if a seller refuses to ship something outside of GSP then I refuse to buy it.

No, there is NO benefit to the buyer...but Yes indeed it does have benefit to that US seller. US sellers ship items out through the EIS and that's the end of THEIR responsibility!...the rest eBay deals with...as per the EIS program and this is how it is promoted to USA sellers by eBay:
"you are only logistically responsible for shipping the items safely to the domestic eBay International Shipping hub. Restrictions, customs paperwork and international shipping are done on your behalf."

·2 years agoYou've probably booked it out of these discussion boards, @lundon44, but I'll post a few thoughts on your post just in case you haven't or in case somebody else finds the information remotely useful.
By the way, I'm guessing you're referring to the old Global Shipping Program rather than the newer eBay International Shipping system because you've used the old program in the past and had success with it, amirite?
So we know that two of those items weren't actually lost, but they had to go through some sort of confirmation process in which the sellers refused to participate. This is the first I've heard of something like that, to be honest, and I wouldn't mind a bit more information on these situations if you come back and feel comfortable sharing it. At any rate, I'm not sure why you're blaming eBay International Shipping for what appears to be seller failure to understand and work with a system that they've presumably agreed to use.
eBay International Shipping and the GSP (it's still a thing in the UK) are glorified forwarding services. Buyers can opt to use their own forwarding services to have items held for pickup or for forwarding if they don't want to use the seller's choice of shipping, but they forego most of eBay's Money Back Guarantee protections if they go that route.
Yes, using direct USPS shipping can be a bit faster than going through this forwarding scheme, but as you note, eIS has a lot of incentives for sellers to use it. In fact, eIS has more protections and benefits for sellers than domestic sales.
There's a lot of ignorance, fear, apprehension, and some paranoia over international shipping expressed on the US eBay discussion boards. If eIS didn't exist, I suspect that most US sellers wouldn't have their items offered for international shipping at all and buyers like you would have no choice but to have a US address on file and have their items sent to that address for pickup or forwarding if they wanted them badly enough.
In fact, you might want to start searching with your location set to a US ZIP code. Items that can't be forwarded through eIS are sometimes resold by a third party to help eIS pay for handling the dead-ended shipment, but that party may not ship outside of the United States. If those items are being sold on eBay, you just might find them again. . .

·2 years agoYeah, I think you've hit on the problem here..it's likely not the GSP that's the issue in these cases of antiques and collectibles; it's that the sellers know they've got a more valuable item than the price sold for at auction and don't want to fulfill the order, but found some way to game the system (mailing a box filled with packaging alone, maybe and putting a small dent or crack on one corner so that it looks tampered with; or getting one digit of the info for the address of the hub wrong deliberately?); or, there's identifying info about the contents on the package and someone is stealing them at the hub:

That's essentially what you're describing here, it's illegal. Why would there be items that 'can't be forwarded' unless there's an error on the buyer's address? How does the third party get ahold of them? Do they have particular items that they target? Do they have 'insiders' at the hub that they pay to keep an eye out for items that can be resold at huge gains? Ebay should have extra insurance when dealing with items of potentially significant historical or artistic interest, because this is a form of embezzlement pure and simple. It's only ever happened to me with pieces that are of this nature, and I have had sellers say after purchasing an item "it's lost, I'm sorry" before even shipping, and they refund immediately, and months later I see the item relisted at double the price. But that's easy to catch. It's a lot tougher if the seller has figured out a way to 'fulfill all their responsibilities' by shipping and taking payment (that they know they'll be refunding) only have found some sort of method to rig it.

·2 years agoHmm, interesting. Usually the last estimated date of delivery is about three weeks from the shipment date and it hasn’t quite been that long yet, @diese-2591.
Check the tracking on the Parcelsapp website in case there is any information on your package that hasn’t been sent to or by eBay.
If there is no useful information there and the last estimated date for delivery has indeed passed, consider filing a non-delivered claim through eBay’s Money Back Guarantee scheme. Make sure you mention that this item is being handled by eBay International Shipping or eIS.

·2 years agoOne might think that by now USPS would have come up with a better, less alarming descriptor than "Delivered, left with individual" but obviously not, as this is the designation for the Abbott & Costello Season 2 Blu-ray order that is on it's way to my Canadian address.
Yes, thanks to this thread, I'm well aware that it's very likely sitting at Chicago O'Hare Airport U.S. Customs. Why doesn't USPS simply designate it as such instead of unnecessarily inciting panic among their customers? They've had over a year to come up with something better.
My suggestions: "Delivered, forwarded to another carrier" or "Forwarded to another carrier for U.S. Customs delivery." Even simply "Forwarded to another carrier" would be a vast improvement.

Even with all the (10s) of thousand calls to eBay CS reporting same concern, someone never thought to throw that against a wall to see what would stick. Maybe too busy either coming up with whimsical item specifics we don't need or throwning pencils in the ceiling to pass the time away.

I was asked to provide feedback on this version of eBay tracking, so I'm wondering if eBay is testing this out on certain buyers. I thought it made things a bit clearer to buyers who may not have researched how the eBay International Shipping system works. As you can see in this screenshot, there's an explanation that the item has finished one stage of its transit and is moving onto another:

Yes, having the entire shipment/frieght forwarding process spelled out does clarify things. That said, why not change that "left with individual" designation. It just doesn't make any sense to me! The previous poster is correct that the blame for it shouldn't fall to USPS, though.

Just to be clear to everyone who might still be in the dark, eBay does provide a different tracking number for each step, but there is some gap between the start of the next step and receiving the new tracking number. Relying on information updates solely from individual carriers clearly leads to more confusion and (sometimes) panic!

·2 years agoThe tracking number on the label of your package works on both the Canada Post and Parcelsapp websites and the "EEUS" prefixed tracking number you should have received after you purchased your item works on Parcelsapp as well. You've probably found that out already, though.

·2 years agoAs it turns out, the issue was that asendia.com never did display any updates. Perhaps tracking for this website only works for domestic orders?
However, I have since confirmed (Thanks marnotom!) that the EEUS tracking did display for a1.asendiausa.co and on the Parcelsapp websites, although the times for ascendiausa were 4 hours behind my actual EDT time zone. Ascendiausa displayed both the original EEUS and LV tracking numbers, while Parcelsapp only displayed the EEUS.

·2 years agoIf it's going through eIS, then this has nothing to do with the USPS. eBay contracts a 3rd party to handle the logistics of getting it across the border. USPS is just what the seller chose to deliver the item to the 3rd party hub. Therefore, as far as the USPS know, that's the end destination. They don't know anything about where it's headed afterwards. The confusion comes from eBay not displaying the information in a way that doesn't incite panic from the buyer.

If you allowed the 30 days to pass, you are also covered by your PP account and /or by your credit card's chargeback policy.

If your item is lost or delayed in transit after it reaches Glendale Heights, the refund is paid by eIS not by the seller.

Freight forwarding is very common and quite safe. Your purchase is headed for Canada, palletized with hundreds of others.
Soon it will show up in Mississauga (Gateway) and then another carrier will bring it to you.
The arrival date is usually a spectrum.
What date did you pay? What date did the seller ship?
You are still covered by the Money Back Guarantee for 30 days after the last estimated delivery date.

·2 years agoThis happened to me as well. My package was delivered to someone in GLENDALE HEIGHTS on December 4th. I called USPS and they could not help but confirmed that it was delivered and that the address didn't match mine which suggests someone at the Ebay Hub is committing mail fraud and diverting packages headed to Canada. I contacted ebay seller who used my address on the site which has been the same for 15 yrs and that many years of purchases there. I filed a formal complaint because this is a very serious USPS fraud issue and someone at the hub is breaking the law - this also means that Ebay has a huge problem at their Global Shipping hub that they need to investigate and put a stop to. NOT wanting to scare everyone whose packages may arrive but people also need to know that there is fraud happening to some ppl!

·2 years agoThere is no fraud going on. Your package was sent via eBay international shipping which means it is first delivered to a hub in Glendale Heights or California. It is processed there which may take a little while, especially at this time of year. Then it is forwarded to the buyer.

We often get posts here and on .com about tracking showing that a buyers package has been 'delivered to some guy in Glendale Heights'. The buyers think their package was delivered to the wrong address and get upset as they feel they are not going to receive their purchase. I don't know what sort of messages the buyer sees when the your has something being sent by EIS but I think that it has to be made more clear what the process is.

·2 years agoAs I cleary stated --- I called USPS in Glendale and the package was indeed delivered to someone other than me on Dec 4 at 10:31 am. The address on the package was not mine but the tracking number was. Contacted seller and it was the only thing he sold within the week and my address has been the same on ebay for 15+ yrs. USPS said they will do an investigation. Others here have said that their package was either picked up by and/or delivered to someone else. So, while patience is required, especially this time of year, there ARE other things going on that are harder to explain away.

·2 years agoWhen an item is shipped throu eBay international shipping it won't have your address on it for the first leg. It has the Glendale Heights or Cali shipping center on it. I don't know if it normally has the buyers name but does have a code on it indicating who and where the parcel is going to. Based on that info the new label they put on the package will have your name and address on it and if you don't have one already, you'll get an EEUS tracking number.
I honestly dont see a reason to be concerned at this point as so far the transaction sounds like any EIS one. But I do understand how disconcerting the whole situation is.

The US address is Glendale Heights IL , about 30 minutes from O'Hare Airport in Chicago.
The person who recieved it is a plant worker.
Your parcel will pass customs there (yes, in the USA, nothing unusual) and be transferred to Canada.
Once in Canada it will be given to another shipping company and you will get a new tracking number.
Your eBay purchase tells you when the last estimated date for delivery will be.
Mark that last date on your calendar.
If your parcel is later than that, open a Not Received dispute.
DON'T EVER WATCH TRACKING.

I've personally used freight forwarders for many of my shipping needs. (Distribution capacity.) When we used we knew what we were getting. The information attached is ONLY as an FYI for reference purposes only and how it corrolates to what eBay sellers have the choice of using. If you check out the official dot com help page link on the program you will see the "advantages" as per eBay. Unfortunately it does not clearly display any disadvantages or perils.

From a personal perspective, it would definitely be more informative/helpful if eBay was more transparent when it comes to anything that is not handled door to door (seller to buyer) vs the current system(With eIS: Seller to forwarding depot on to XYZ courier to buyer). Unfortunately that is something we probably won't see happening. All you can do as a buyer is do your due dilligence and make a judgement as if your purchase is worth the risk/cost and fits your requirements for delivery. The window is specified when when you check shipping costs. If you con't like what you see at checkout...Best to ask. This will save any unexpected surprises.

What happens or doesn't happen to your item between when you paid for it and that date is out of your control; just remember that you should be protected by eBay's Money Back Guarantee if it doesn't arrive. (I know that receiving the item is better, but at least you're not hung out to dry.)
Keeping such close tabs on an item's tracking tends to give some buyers the illusion that they have some control over the shipment, I find. When things go awry, those buyers get worried because they realize that they have less control over the item's shipment than they thought. As advised by @femmefan1946 many posts and months ago, make yourself a nice cup of tea and mark that last estimated delivery date on your calendar.

·2 years agoI recently purchased a game console from a seller on EBAY and I panicked when I received an envelope with a piece of paper in it instead of my game console. I had to pay $50 in duty and taxes since the "letter" had a listed value of $192. The letter was from the seller telling me that:
- the item was being shipped from their warehouse
- they gave me five stars and could I return the favour
- they will give me 10% off my next purchase
- there was a death in the family
The word "Colecovision" (the item I was buying) was scribbled across the paper with a blue felt pen.
The day after I received the letter EBAY listed the item as "Delivered"
When I contacted the seller they sent me a screenshot of a delivery notice of something being delivered to Illinois as proof that they shipped my console and it was out of their hands.

The seller could have communicated all of that to you via a message. They sent the letter tracked with that value for a reason.

As explained in Message 3 of this 46 message thread, Glendale Heights, just outside Chicago and down the road from O'Hare Airport, is the shipping hub for the eBayInternational Shipping program.
Never watch tracking.
Put the last estimated date for delivery on your calendar and expect arrival before then.

·2 years agoSeems to me this shipping system is a mess. I have 2 packages stuck in Glendale Heights. If they do not arrive by the delivery date Ebay gives I will be asking for a refund. That will also be the end of any Ebay purchasing for me. Seems to me Ebay is headed down hill. They only care about their fees they get from a sale. The buyer gets the short end of the stick with this strange shipping program.

·2 years agoOK, so that same bloke in Glendale Heights now has my order from New Jersey that is destined for Sydney Australia! Looks like he gets lots of parcels there so maybe he's real busy licking stamps and putting new labels on all the boxes. Anyway the seller assures me this happens all the time and that it will arrive in my country soon enough. Currently it was 'delivered'in Glendale Heights on Sep 4 but the eBay portal says it will be here by Oct 6th. Fingers Crossed!

Glendale Heights is just the transfer point. The seller is no longer responsible for delivery. If there is a problem, eBay will refund you.
Mark October 18 -- a whole 29 days away-- on your calendar and don't watch tracking.

·3 years agoThe problem with computers is that they give a pretty short list of answers for FAQs.
I read the message as " The parcel was given to a human being, not left on the doorstep."
The worst problem would be that you never see the purchase, right?
But you would get your money back because of the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
Your seller would still be paid* for the sale, so they would be happy.
You would be annoyed, of course, because you didn't get the Thing and because you had to wait for your Claim to work itself out.
But, as mentioned above, your purchase is on a truck somewhere between Chicago and Mississauga.
You will likely hear next that it has passed customs here, and with luck the Canadian carrier will be named.
You do know that with the eIS freight forwarding that you pay duty** on purchases over $150 dollars and sales taxes over $40 on arrival right? Be prepared for that.
You can also, in future, make importing simpler and less stressful by going to your local PO and signing up for (FREE!) FlexDelivery of parcels ***
Shipping is the hardest part of online commerce.
Frankly, the best bet is to mark the last estimated date for delivery on your calendar and then relax. The post office has been doing this since 1874**** and they are getting pretty good at it.
*This is one reason why sellers sign up for eIS. They are not responsible for delivery once the eIS plant takes possession.

·3 years agoRecently bought item from just south of the border. I'm in BC. I told the seller please dont send it to depots all over the USA. Well I'm getting mixed messages saying will be delivered June 9th which is today. In meantime my item is in Glendale Il so we are actually going backwards. Why do they send it half way across the US when I could have driven down and picked it up. In my view the "NEW" ebay shipping takes for ever as long as 30 days coming from Florida and it touched on at least five "sorting" facilities!

·3 years agoThis is the way "eBay International Shipping" works. It's a consolidation/forwarding service with a lot of perks for the sellers that use it as it relieves them of a lot of responsibility for shipping items out of the country. Think of it like your item travelling by railroad, except there's no rail line connecting Washington State to British Columbia, so it has to go some other route instead.
You should have been given a time estimate on the listing page and in emails you received from eBay. Is it really 30 days?

·3 years agoThanks for reply. I asked the seller if she could speed things up as I live in BC and seller is just across the border east of Seattle. Things were looking up when it arrived in Seattle then things went east when it arrived in Chicago. I have to give Ebay credit I got a very fast refund on an item. The 30 days was not on this item.
The buyer I believe has a choice to use it or to use Fedex as you noted but thats about $150. All that being said I have NEVER had a package "never arrive!" and ebay is around $25 US and in my three pending current buys the one I mentioed was bought June 2nd and I paid within minutes and item was shipped next morning.
I love Ebay but it can be like a good marriage,- its not always perfect!

·3 years agoI'm not sure where I "noted" this. Sellers using the annoyingly and boringly-named "eBay International Shipping" service can't offer an alternative shipping method on the listing and I believe that they can't switch to another shipping method at a buyer's request because it's going to mess up their other listings.
There's another, similarly-named eBay service called "eBay International Standard Delivery" which is more like a postage option. That allows sellers to offer alternative shipping methods in addition to the eBay one, but that service is going to be discontinued in a month or so.
Most of the time when eBay offers something new, such as the "eBay International Shipping" service, there's a period where bugs abound and they have to be worked out. It's tough to beta-test a lot of this stuff so the site relies on guinea pigs like you and me to try it out.
One of the problems with the international shipping and forwarding schemes that eBay comes up with is that they're really intended for destinations that aren't as economically integrated with the US as we are with them. However, since sales to Canada don't generally make up a significant proportion of sales for most US sellers, there isn't really much point in creating something special and more efficient for shipping to Canada.

·2 years agoWe can all blame the people who make a living from selling PS5's and many other higher end items.
And either just shipping the empty box or boxes with items that weigh the same like Bricks (but not the PS5). So everything shipped in E bay goes through the Ebay verification hub..
If they open it up and it doesn't match the agreed item as a scam
They contact law enforcement in the area it was sent from and cancel the transaction.

·2 years agoInternational shipping hubs just make certain that the items are going through the proper customs protocols for various countries.
If you are in Canada shipping to the US products that are not permissable will either be shippied back.

In Canada if it is an imported good It first enters Canada and gets Delivered to the nearest Customs hub. Montreal/ Toronto/ Vancouver.
No Way Around any of that.

·3 years agoWell, my package is there as well - if you are in Canada like I am you can't really go by the expected shipping date, in part because I think that only covers the USPS end of things and does not account for when it is being inspected or if it get's stuck in customs on either side of teh border (although most often I think it happens on the US side when packages come in from US, but may also happen in Canada especially if incoming from a different country. The tracking only seems to go so far as to when USPS hands it off elsewhere and then you need to figure out who has it (for USA orders I usually get Pitney Bowes, although I am in Toronto and this might vary depending on where you are). One time I had a package actually track to Toronto, then it went to somewhere in Newfoundland for an inspection, before coming back to me in Toronto. All of my packages have eventually shown up though, but if you need things quickly teh Ebay Global Shipping is not it (some sellers use other methods like Fedex - I get packages that arrive all the way from Japan in 3-4 days while ordering from the other side of the border can take 2 or so weeks).

Glendale is just outside Chicago.
The seller is using the new eIS freight forwarding service.
Your seller ships to the Glendale address.
Once there, the seller's responsibility for delivery ends.
Freight forwarding is very common and quite safe. Your purchase is headed for Canada, palletized with hundreds of others.
Soon it will show up in Mississauga (Gateway) and then another carrier will bring it to you.
It is two days past the expected arrival date.
The arrival date is usually a spectrum. Was June 7th the first or the last estimated arrival date?
What date did you pay? What date did the seller ship?
You are still covered by the Money Back Guarantee for 30 days after the last estimated delivery date.

·3 years agoThis seems to be a fairly frequent occurance. I had a parcel shipped via ebay global shipping who used USPS and it went from New York to Glendale Heights in a few days. But now its sitting there saying it was delivered to some guy???? I have no new tracking number and no one seems to know where it is at. It still says its at the shipping hub in Glendale being inspected. Thats 12 days already. I live in Edmonton, Canada and wonder if it is still coming or what. Any ideas anyone||?

·3 years agoWhat i've gathered form reading numerous other posts, is that the USPS delivers to an intermediary shipping service in the US. That is why your tracking looks like your package was shipped to some guy in the US, it arrived at the intermediary. From there it will get forwarded to Canada (with a new tracking number that nobody will tell you what it is) and handed to another party for final delivery. Who this final delivery party is seems to be a very open question that several of us have been trying to determine. It may well be some two bit courier service, could even be Canada Post, but i'm skeptical about that.
Anyway, some people have gone through online gymnastics to find the new updated tracking numbers only to discover they are super slow to update. I went through that once with an item i bought on Banggood. The item was delivered two weeks prior to the tracking showing it was out for delivery (this was delivered by a two bit, mickey mouse courier service). It was a miracle i got my package but i won't go into the story. Suffice to say i will never purchase from Banggood again.
If Ebay wants buyers to actually use EIS over the long term, they better smarten up and use reliable, professional delivery services, with REGULAR TRACKING UPDATES (which they boast about on every seller's listing who uses EIS) or they will find revenues dropping fast from lack of international sales, and their penny pinching use of cut rate courier services will cost them a bundle.

All that is happening is "spoke and hub" delivery.
The original sender has been told by eBay to ship to the hub
There the seller's responsibility for delivery ends.
EBay is now responsible for delivery,
At the hub, all the parcels for Canada (or more likely for Maritime Canada, for Quebec, for Ontario, for the Prairies and for BC) are sent together by another carrier.
That carrier may complete the delivery or may sub-contract to yet another carrier.
All of which is why you should mark the last estimated date for delivery on your calendar, and DO NOT WATCH TRACKING.
It works efficiently, but efficient and common sense are not synonymous.
If your purchase doesn't arrive by that last estimated date, you can open a Claim and be refunded.
If you are worried about secure delivery, go to Canada Post and set up a FlexDelivery account. It's free and means that your parcel will not be left unattended.

·2 years agoYour advice in that post is generally excellent, @femmefan1946, but I’m not sure how useful FlexDelivery would be for shipments handled by eIS as FlexDelivery is a glorified post office box service.
From what I’ve seen so far, eIS is pretty hardnosed with its prohibition on shipping to PO boxes, even to Canada where they’re used a lot for rural and remote deliveries.

To save you reading the information here.
The US address is Glendale Heights IL , about 30 minutes from O'Hare Airport in Chicago.
The person who recieved it is a plant worker.
Your parcel will pass customs there (yes, in the USA, nothing unusual) and be transferred to Canada.
Once in Canada it will be given to another shipping company and you will get a new tracking number.
Your eBay purchase tells you when the last estimated date for delivery will be.
Mark that last date on your calendar.
If your parcel is later than that, open a Not Received dispute.
DON'T EVER WATCH TRACKING.

·2 years agoWe get it, how many times can you put the same thing in a thread. The whole point of tracking is to give peace of mind... clearly if it does the oopsite and confuses, that's a problem esspecially if it's between such close and ecnomically tied countries like USA and Canada.
That being said, it can be good advice to not watch shipping if you don't know the pitfalls of how some of it works or is displayed.
And yes I'm a necromancer, the tread lives!!!

·2 years agoHi, @ke549579. I'm not sure how you ended up on the Canadian eBay discussion boards, but welcome! You can relax, there is no problem with your order. Your seller has no use for your address in Wales and is not responsible for the shipment once it reaches the shipping hub, so for all intents and purposes, the hub address is the "final" address for them. Your address in Wales will be on file at the shipping hub and your item should be forwarded to the UK from there.

·3 years agoI've also just had a package coming to Canada dropped off "with an individual" in Glendale Heights. Hopefully more tracking information shows up once it's on its way again. Another package arrived in the Phillipsburg, NJ USPS facility 10 days ago using "ebay delivery services" with no further tracking information shown. I have no idea where it's at. The tracking number provided is not a valid USPS number.

·3 years agoHave you tried looking it up on a "universal" tracking site such as Parcelsapp? Your item could be handled by a hybrid of the postal system and a courier or commercial carrier.
That said, there really shouldn't be any need to check the tracking of your item unless it's almost due to arrive or past due.
