    eIS no longer allows US computer/electronics sales to Canada

    Summary: aramatic expressed frustration over US policy changes affecting cross-border eBay trades of computer accessories, specifically impacting shipments to Canada. They noted that eBay has stopped shipping certain electronics internationally, with only USPS and UPS still offering these services. marnotom! inquired about package forwarders, and lotzofuniquegoodies highlighted concerns about the broader impact on repurposing and selling electronics, questioning if this might become a reciprocal issue. aramatic mentioned a recent policy signed by President Trump restricting e-waste exports, while lotzofuniquegoodies expressed skepticism about the policy's long-term effects.

    I started noticing this a few days ago when some vintage computer accessories I bought from the US were stopped at the International Hub and declared "Unable to deliver". Now eBay is going to the source and ruling out Canada, and no doubt elsewhere, as a destination for computers etc. through eBay International Shipping. This seems to follow from a recent US administration policy on e-waste. Searches on eBay and PicClick reveal that computers etc. will only ship to Canada via USPS, UPS, and other couriers. Another kick in the teeth to cross-border eBay trade.

    Saw this too! eBay cancelled my order for "Network Switch" and trashed away in eBay Hub refusing to ship to Canada.

    Weeks after ordering, I got a refund but already lost $40 in exchange rate fees.

    AVOID buying from eBay international, they're refusing to ship to Canada. UPS will ship directly but 99% of sellers won't.

    @aramatic

    They seem to be doing everything under the sun to eliminate repurposing/repairing....anything and everything. Beyond frustrating. That would be another line checked off that I can no longer list and sell to the USA. I wonder if this will end up being reciprocal? Were you able to find a specific announcement on the subject? Doing a quick search it seems to have a bit to recycled contents and those dreaded precious minerals.

    "On July 30, 2026, President Donald Trump signed a Presidential Determination under Title I of the Defense Production Act (DPA) authorizing the federal government to restrict the export of electronic waste (e-waste) and other scrap materials." Donald Duck strikes again and eBay.com has fallen into line. But we're OK sending to the US, as there isn't a similar policy in force in Canada.

    Do you know if package forwarders such as MyUS will still be accepting computer equipment?

    No, I've never used forwarders. Although USPS and UPS etc. seem to be spared at the moment I wonder if they'll get dragged in too.
