I am in Saskatchewan Canada and I am trying to purchase an item (206379881723) and its in my cart. The listing states it may not ship to my area and I need to contact the seller. I did this. The Seller says they are part of the internatinal shipping program with eBay and when checking out it shjould give me the shipping options.
Seller: Thank you for reaching out to us. We participate in Ebay's international shipping program so you should be able to purchase through that program. It should be offered when you go to make the purchase.
When trying to Check out I got the error
Unfortunately, this seller won't ship this item to SK, Canada. You can:- Update your shipping address and try again.- Or find similar items from another seller.
I sent his to the seller, and he replied that he checked into this and that eBay says they dont ship to Saskatchwan Canada - Which I know is wrong.
Seller: I had to do some research. Unfortunately, Saskatchewan is not supported by Ebay's International shipping program. There are a couple of Canadian provinces that are banned under the program. You would have to find a seller that handles international shipping outside of Ebay to purchase from. There is just too much redtape with customs and shipping which is why we only shsip internationally through Ebay's program. Until Ebay adds your providence into the program, we are not able to ship to your address.
Can anyone help me direct the seller on how to correct his listing to allow me to purchase this?

·3 months agoThe frequency counter may be getting flagged by eBay's AI as being ineligible for export from the USA or import to Canada, especially if it decides it's part of Ham Radio stuff. I've had instruction manuals in that category flagged before.
As a side note, do you have your address set as a PO Box? If so, you'll need to update it to a physical address as that could also cause an issue.

OP3 months agoThx, Funny because I used to own this exact frequency counter, but the batteries leaked and destroyed it. No, Im not shipping to a PO Box, but your Ham Radio scenario kind of makes sense. I’m shipping it to my brother in-law in Texas and hell ship it to me from there. When I look at the listing - it only lists USA as a shipping location, I think the seller did not list it for international, and maybe eBay would not let him do that because they think it’s a ham radio item.

·3 months ago · EditedJust because the seller is enrolled in eBay International Shipping (eIS) doesn't mean that eIS will handle international shipping for all of a seller's listings.
I looked up the listing and from what I can see, the frequency counter doesn't ship internationally through eIS at all, so this isn't a "Saskatchewan thing." What's likely really happened here is that the AI that checks eIS listings has determined that there could be a problem getting the item out of the US, so eIS has been stripped from the listing. There have been a few posts recently from radio enthusiasts that suggest that HAM radios and accessories may be proving problematic for eBay and that sales of these items are being restricted as a result.
The seller could "correct his listing" by listing it in a different category or eliminating certain words from the listing title and description that might trigger the AI, but that doesn't eliminate the possibility that the item might be caught at the forwarding hub in Illinois and will dead-end there.
The only solution I can think of off the top is that you have the item sent to a friend or a forwarding agent in the US and you get it forwarded to Saskatchewan under your own steam. The downside of this is that you forego most of your buyer protections through eBay by doing this, so if the item doesn't arrive or it arrives damaged, you're SOL unless you have a very understanding and generous friend or a good agreement with your forwarding agent.

Just keep in mind that at Checkout, you're going to have to have your brother-in-law's address entered as the "ships to" address for the transaction, both for the transaction to work, and also because eBay requires sellers to ship to the address on file for the transaction if the seller wants to qualify for various post-sale protections.
For what it's worth, the seller did list this item for international sale, but because they had no other international shipping options besides eIS, the "contact seller" message came up. If the seller intentionally did not list the item with international shipping, they would likely have set up the listing in a manner which would have made it almost impossible for non-US based buyers to find in a search.

OP3 months agoForgot to mention that eBays AI agent was uselss and I could n ot find a number to contact a live agent. and ther AI would not direct my chat to a Live agent.
