Ebay canada managed payments issue with my bank account
Summary: Several participants are experiencing difficulties with eBay's managed payments system in Canada, particularly when trying to connect their Canadian bank accounts to receive funds. Users like spectralh, matt8i4e, and tryubik-useonlyasdirected have shared frustrations about constant error messages and unresponsive customer support. There seems to be a recurring issue involving accounts registered many years ago on eBay.com, now facing compatibility problems with Canadian banking information. koltech9 offered a solution that has worked for some people, but new instances of this issue continue to arise. Customer support's advice often includes updating bank information or opening new accounts, but these solutions seem ineffective, leaving many users, like infolica, without access to their funds. The discussion ends with a moderator closing the thread due to its age, suggesting that new threads be started if the conversation needs to continue.

·2 years agoHave you checked that the bank information is correct? That's a loooooooong set of numbers and if even on is misplaced or wrong total confusion entails.

·2 years agoFirst after receiving the two deposits, I validated them on the my eBay page and received this email :
Your payout account is verified!
Hi ,
Thanks for confirming the microdeposit amounts we sent to your bank account.
We verified your bank details and you’re all set! If your payouts were on hold, you’ll start receiving funds to your bank account, provided there are no other issues that need your attention.
And since then receiving this :
Unfortunately, your payout on Nov 05, 2023 in the amount of US $73.35 was returned by your bank because your bank account could not be verified. We’ll try resending your payout.
Please check to see if the bank account info you provided is correct. If you have any concerns, please contact your bank.

·2 years agoperhaps the issue has to do with the currency of the funds ...your above post references USD ... so are you listing on .COM or .CA?

It is strange that it was working until it wasn't (as per post 33). The 73.35 could be at ebay's end unless you have made some kind of change to your banking or ebay settings.
It would be nice if eBay published a full list of approved Canadian banks/account types in help so sellers could choose a bank before choosing one and finding out it WON'T work or is not acceptable..

As to the comments of this being a Zombie thread, it is only because eBay has never chosen to actually properly address what is causing so many sellers having issues receiving their funds ater completing the process. In theory sellers should be receiving error messages when/if something has not been filled out properly before hitting send with the application or what is causing it to suddenly stop happening. Sounds like more of an eBay thing vs something the seller has done wrong.

·2 years ago@retromangam @infolica, I suggest you take a leaf from @femmefan1946's book from the early posts in this thread and use the online chat option to contact Customer Service. It may take some time and patience, but you'll likely be eventually put through to a Managed Payments specialist who can help you through your issues.

·2 years agoI am having the same issue here, 2nd time this happen to me in a year and half, iv been long time ebay member, always used the same bank acocunt info, then i went with Managed payment, this is where the nightmare started, it took over a month to get this fixed by ebay financial department, finnaly the issue was on their side and i was fixt... Now this BS happen again 8-10 month's later, iv already talk to like 4-5 agents, they keep telling me to update my bank account, wth you want me to update, its the same account iv always used... also sending micro deposite that never come in, they say that the bank keep rejecting transaction but on my bank side they see nothing from ebay. They really starting to get on my nerve's now! What a waist of time with customer service that just does nothing...

·4 years agoI managed to solve the issue by doing the following
1. Login to ebay.ca site
2. Go to your name (top left) , then "Seller account" , or click on this link https://bill.ebay.ca/billing/selleraccount
3. On the menu on the left , click "Payment Information \ Payments
4. It will ask you to login again
5. Click on "please go to Payments on the US site"
6. (Important). On the next page, don't click on "Update account details" , but instead scroll down to Payments and click on the PLUS (+) next to it in the main page
7. Add your Canadian Bank account. You might have to try a few, TD works for me
That's it

·4 years agoI am also having the same issue, my Canadian dollar, Canadian bank account is not accepted, I keep getting a generic "cannot add your account" error message on this page that they have directed me too:
https://kycremedyweb.ebay.com/bank-account-remedy
Long chat conversations over two weeks, and agents are completely stonewalling me with "just open another account with a different bank", while acknowledging the problem is on their side!!! That's complete insanity. I'm extremely disappointed. What's more they refuse to send me a cheque or send the funds to my PayPal.

·4 years agoYou forgot to mention that back in 1998, you registered with a US address for some reason. That address is still on file and now in 2022, the eBay system considers you a US user.
I could be wrong, but I think the only way out of this is to register a new account with a Canadian address.
tryubik-useonlyasdirected
·4 years agoHow many thousands of users registered on eBay.com before eBay.ca came out. Think on that, we've all been using our accounts for decades with no issues. There has to be something more to it than that.

·3 years agoI registered on the .com site in 2000. Yep 22 years ago. I am in Canada and my profile shows that. I can't add a bank account to receive my sales. 2 weeks of online chat and phone calls has only resulted in me getting madder and ready to scream the next time one of them tells me to "open another bank account at a different bank"

·3 years agoI'm in the same situation. Registered in 2000 at eBay.com. Canadian citizen. Been at it for over a month. They aren't doing anything about it. Eventually they will restrict your account (you can't sell, and they will hold your funds) because you can't add a bank because of their glitch. They will tell you over and over to find some bank that will work. You can't. Eventually you may find someone from eBay who will tell you they are aware of the problem and are working on it, but that took me 3 hours of online "help" before they would admit it, and I don't think they are going to fix it. This has been going on for a long time with people in our situation.
Another seller like us had to demand payment via PayPal and then open a new account. So much for 22 years of feedback. It's terrible of eBay to do this.

·3 years agoAdd me to the same boat!
Opened eBay account 20+ years ago while living in US, now I'm in Canada and struggling with the same issue.
Last time when I was chatting with an agent who was walking me thorugh the process, I have re-added the same TD Bank USD account, and then there was a screen asking for a FULL account number. That's after I already entered transit/institution/account on the previous screen. I asked the agent if the FULL account number needs to include transit and institution numbers and they said no, so I didn't include them. Well, still no microdeposits...
I wonder if next time I should try including all the numbers when asked for the full account number. Maybe that'll do the trick. Has anyone tried this?
