adding Zonos Account Key to Canada Post Account
Summary: daisydaisy999 is having trouble integrating their Zonos account with Canada Post and is unsure where to input the Zonos Account Key. They initially tried the wrong section and faced challenges finding accurate instructions. regs43 suggests checking preferences through the label creation cancelation page, but daisydaisy999 eventually found out they need to paste the token key after the Zonos logo. eriekexouwyrn0 clarifies that linking the accounts is a one-time setup, not needed for every order. dinomitesales suggests using the Zonos Prepay app for cost estimation since they are among the first users of Automatic Billing. The discussion touches on usage of public versus private keys and payment methods, with emphasis on credit card requirements for Zonos transactions.
Hi all - I am driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to finish this supposedly easy Zonos process. I have signed up for the account and have the key but don't know where to put it - the instructions are vague...
- Under Integrations, you will see your Zonos Account Key. This is a 13-character code that allows you to connect your Zonos account to your Canada Post account
- Copy the key and add it to your Canada Post account preferences.
I found the code but I can't figure out where in Canada Post to put it - account preferences doesn't seem to be a thing - I tried just searching Zonos on the Canada Post site and of course search isn't working (as usual) - can anyone who has done it already please help! Also just to confirm - on the dashboard with the keys there is a private and public option - assuming I want to use the public one for Canada Post?
Thank you in advance for your help!

·11 months agoWhat are the actual payment methods accepted with Zonos?
All I see is a spot for a CC, no google pay, no paypal.
I suppose I would need a real CC for Canada Post anyways, but does Zonos accept Visa debit? Or does the website only suggest this, and then I'll find out it doesn't when I finally try this?

·11 months agoBoth the Zonos Prepay app, and the Zonos Dashboard only accept credit cards for payment. There is no PayPal option on either, and no Apple Pay integration on the app.
Unknown if a VISA Debit would work - I don't have one to test.

OP11 months agoOk - I am super confused now - I finally was able to make a label in Snap Ship - everything should have been good but how long does it take to show up in my Zonos account? Is it an instant thing or do you have to wait to see it - I'm still not sure how much I am paying - this was more of an experiment... I am not enjoying this!

·11 months agoNo one knows how long it will take to receive a bill. This is all extremely new. You are likely in a very small subset of Canadians that have actually attempted to use the Automatic Billing service. Please report back with what you eventually find out!
You can estimate what the fees should be by doing a mock transaction on Zonos Prepay app (just change the processing fee to $1.99, which is what you pay for Automatic Billing). Hopefully the final billing matches that amount.

OP11 months agothanks - I am doing this on my computer - don't have the app, I take it there is no way to see it doing it on a desktop?

·11 months agoYou can access the web version of the app through app.zonosprepay.com but it seems to be down a lot of the time. I'm sure it will get more reliable as time progresses.

when you click "create shipping label" in the dashboard it brings you to create a label. On the right hand side click "cancel and return to cart" Thats is whre the preferences page is lol (NOT WELL LAID OUT AT ALL)

OP11 months agothanks @regs43 so I don't just add the key to my account in general but to individual labels? And is it the public key?
daisydaisy999
OP11 months agothere does not seem to be anyplace to put the key - I did the whole checkout but it expected it to already be there - this is what I get and there is no way to type anything into the box - the box has the little zonos sybol in it and says zonos but I can't delete it to add my key which I assume is what they want...?:
As of August 29, 2025, the United States requires all packages entering the U.S. to have duties prepaid. As a result, you need to pay U.S. duties on shipments before a shipping label can be created. Learn more
We currently offer two methods of US duty payments:
This option doesn't change how you create a shipping label in Snap Ship or Shipping Manager. After you complete Step 5: Customs in the online shipping tool, duties will be automatically charged to your Zonos Account. Create a Zonos Account Key
Before creating a shipping label, pay duties in the Zonos app to get a Declaration ID. For each U.S. shipment, enter the Declaration ID in Step 5: Customs in Snap Ship or Shipping Manager. Get the Zonos app

OP11 months agoignore the above - you have to paste in the token key after the little zonos logo - that would be a good thing to make clear though but us clueless people! 🙂 fingers crossed that this will now work!

@regs43
The problem they (eBay) are most likely trying to resolve is that with eBay Labels eBay owns the account. With Snap Ship and Shippo you are using your own account number.

·10 months agoNo where in the instructions by Zonos or Canada post does it state you have to enter your account key for every order. This is a one time thing to link your accounts. You must have done something wrong.
