Any news how eIS will handle CUSMA certification?

The CUSMA certification is a major roadblock and definitively something that won't work for smaller sellers. Chitchats certification is a prodecure no different than the the regular certification at Stallion for any item, so it's a process that small sellers will not be able to follow thorugh for each of the individual listing.

Ebay could automate the process at least when I enter Brand, Model number/MPN or the UPC code.

If it's going to be so manual forget that whole eIS then.

CUSMA was in no way shape or form put in place to serve the needs of low value individual shipments. It is designed for wholesale export of goods into the US. The decision to eliminate de minimis in 1 month instead of 2 years has thrown the worldwide retail industry into complying with rules that were never intended to apply for international shipments of individual purchases. Trust at both the macro and micro level in doing business with the US is rapidly eroding and systems are under strain to cope. Let's hope eBay can facilitate a solution, but I have a feeling it's going to be error prone, restrictive and in constant flux which will mean further erosion.

Totally agree about CUSMA-It's a trade agreement between Canada,USA, Mexico for big corporations, big companies, big business and was never intended for "the little guy. " and I will not waste time, effort or $ on finding an economical, convenient shipping method to the USA for my items...Eff that pre-paying of them effn tariffs....I am over it ...Pursuing selling locally, donating less desireable items locally and only offering items for shipping within Canada...

Buy Canadian...sell Canadian...God Bless Canada!

There are plenty of SMBs that can use CUSMA to their advantage in the current situation (current as in for the next 6 months or so) because they produce product in Canada that can be certified and shipped wholesale. I guess I should have said that the CUSMA current implementation doesn't work with the one off retail sale model, mostly occuring with 2nd hand goods. That's truly not a workable model.

Going forward if you are not the actual manufacturer of an item with parts being almost entirely obtained in Canada it will be extremely challenging for much of anything to qualify for CUSMA. How The Donald wants it. (Makes him sound like a mob boss. Any ideas when he will be sending ICE for any Canadian that refuses to pay tariffs?)

How is going filling in all the required blanks for the Certificates of Origin you have submitted to date?

That CUSMA cerificate of origin looks like a perfect storm and total nightmare, many sellers can't get over it from what I hear on the news. That is basically a show stopped if you need to pay 35%, you are out of business. I had a weird dream the other night, my dear, something weird crossed my mind that, Trump is training just for that. Just need to deploy few thousand troops over 10 major cities in Canada and airports, it would give him total control of 40% of population, game over. Few hours at most. By the evening news would show north continent wrapped all in US flag.

I was venting about the 35% tariff earlier today. I specialize in selling Canadian type items, thankfully many of my customers are Canadian (and putting them in this store with US shipping turned off probably won't impact sales so much), but I'm really steamed that we get one of the worst tariff rates out there. It was at 25% a little while ago but we did something that ticked him off (I heard about that, but I won't go there), and then he upped our tariff rate to 35% to further cripple our economy.

It's no secret. It's welcome gift to 1. Carney who said no to the marriage proposal, 2. Digital tax slap, and 3. Palestine vote betrayal of Israel.

It least Canada didn't end up as low as Brasil.
