OP3 weeks ago · EditedUnfortunately some of my letter at the bottom was "lost". LOL. Liz knows I'm long winded as do you folks. Sorry about that. Does anyone want to partner with me on printed t-shirts with "Bah Humbug Eh" on one side and a photo (use your imagination) on the other?
"Thank you Liz and Value Added Resource! You've clearly laid out this dilemma!
Thank you for illustrating the plight these tariffs inflict on Canadian sellers. Not only is this hurting us now it's manifested the inability to plan ahead. We don't know if a tariff today is a tariff gone tomorrow.
Christmas decorations are in Mr. Trump's list of additional 50% tariffs proposed to begin August 19. Anyone who sells seasonal items lists them in the summer. Making matters worse if one manages to sell an item to a US customer with the 50% tariff the eBay International Shipping Program (EIS) requires it be shipped to eBay in Missisaugua for processing. I may be coming from a seller in Vancouver 2700 miles away. After processing it's shipped by eBay to the buyer possibly in Seattle 2500 miles away. After criss-crossing the continent TWICE (if your crystal "Rudolph" with a flashing nose survives) it reaches it's final destination 143 miles away from Vancouver!
This extra time must be calculated into a Canadian seller's selling schedule but the worst part is the extra time and expense will be born by our USA friends.
Christmas decorations are an important item for many sellers. I'm just using it as one example out of the 500 plus categories but for seasonal decor Canada's theme will be "Bah Humbug eh!"
Thank you Value Added Resource for explaining this to the planet.

PS "Bah Humbug Eh" would make a great seasonal shirt for my store had not Mr. Trump put his 50 % tariff on t shirts too!
