I bought a UPS shipping label and insurance from eBay, and shipped the painting I had sold. About 10 days after the "Expected Delivery Date" provided by UPS, the painting was still not delivered to my buyer. So I reported to UPS. UPS started an investigation and tried to locate it. Two weeks later, UPS confirmed that they lost the package ("We can not locate it"). I filed an insurance claim with UPS, but UPS refused to handle/settle the claim for the reason that "the label and insurance was bought from a third party - eBay, rather than directly from UPS". And UPS told me to "contact eBay for the insurance claim". Then I contacted eBay, and eBay told me to "contact UPS for the insurance claim".
When we buy a defective DELL computer from Walmart, we return the defective DELL computer to Walmart and get refund from Walmart. Then, Walmart deals with DELL about the defective computer.
If we buy a defective DELL computer directly from DELL, we return it to DELL and get refund from DELL. If we buy a shipping label and insurance directly from UPS, and if the package is lost during shipping, UPS is certainly responsible for the lost package and we'll certainly get refund from UPS.
To conclude, "Buy UPS shipping label and insurance from eBay" is a perfect trap for eBay sellers.
