Can I talk to a live agent on eBay
Summary: am_650364 inquired about speaking to a live agent on eBay. reallynicestamps provided insights, explaining that most live agents are subcontractors and advising on handling common issues like Item Not Received (INR) and Not As Described (NAD) claims. They suggested specific steps, such as using tracking numbers and processing returns, to resolve these issues effectively. john_koenig99 noted that the community is not monitored by eBay, implying a need for alternative solutions. This exchange highlights practical advice for dealing with eBay-related issues without direct eBay support.
I have tried to speak to an agent at eBay as I have an issue that cannot be solved with the automatic replies. Cannot find a single phone number after one hour search. Does anyone have a phone number for Customer Support ? Thanks in advance

·1 month ago@lascogotas Most of the "live agents" work for a subcontractor in Utah not for eBay.
Most problems come down to Item Not Received(INR) or Not As Described (NAD) claims.
With INR, immediately put the tracking number into the Claim. Even if the item is not yet delivered, this usually gives you a day or two of grace, and most INRs are delays not losses.
With NAD, immediately send Return Shipping to the buyer. If the buyer is not in Canada, this is still possible. Get the item back, refund, inspect and relist.
If your problem is more complex (an INR sent without tracking or an NAD that was sent using eIS ) describe it here.
Most posters have been selling here for decades, and know more than a minimum wage clerk in a boiler room in Manila who mostly wants you off the phone so they can get a pee break.

you are covered by the Money Back Guarantee
No need for a human being, that will just slow things down.
Go to the original order
Look for a button that says "Other Actions"
Your Claim is Item Not Received and youhave 30 days from the last estimated date for delivery to open a Claim.
If the seller cannot prove delivery, you will be refunded.
If the seller does not refund you, eBay will , and go after them for the money.
If more than 30 days have passed and eBay will not help, go to the credit card you used to pay and open a chargeback.

·1 year agoPhone support will give you a sympathetic ear.
They won't help, but you might feel better.
The phone reps are subcontractors in Utah or the Philippines and have no authority.
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.
Or you can ask here.
The posters here have in some cases been selling or buying for decades on the site.
Be warned.
Tough love is to be expected.
You might not get what you want, but you might get what you need.

·1 year agoYou can also start off with the automatic help and if the issue can't be addressed at the end they usually say "can I have an agent call you". I have done this several times and they usually call back in a few minutes.

·1 year agoThere is no direct number, When you go to help and contact at the top of the page, scroll down and click on contact us you 'may' be able ask for a call back from customer service, I don't think that it is available all the time. You can also contact eBay customer service on FB, Instagram and X. You can leave a direct message with your eBay Id and email address.
Or you can ask the question here. In some cases someone here (another ebayer) may be able to help you.
