Canada - Selling Only in Specific Provinces?
Summary: Anonymous User inquires if item listings on eBay can be restricted to specific provinces within Canada due to high registration fees in some areas. They note that eBay allows selling nationally and internationally but not by province. reallynicestamps responds that selling on eBay Canada automatically includes all provinces and territories, and mentions that eBay handles sales tax registration. flipistics seeks clarification on what specific registrations are being discussed for the provinces.
Real quick question:
Can item listings be restricted to only show/sell to specific provinces?
Context:
Currently operating an incorporated business for e-commerce and are working through the process of registering with the various provinces. Some provinces have expensive registeration fees and it therefore may be decided not to conduct business in various provinces.
When selling on the Ebay phone app, you have the option to sell in Canada, as well as internationally and locally. But there is not options for Provinces.
Any insights would be appreciated!

·3 years agoIf you are selling on eBay Canada, you are selling in all provinces and territories.
If you are worried about sales tax registration, that is actually entirely handled by eBay, who charge a fee on taxes collected for you. Many sellers get upset about that, but your bookkeeper may find it helpful.
I'd worry more about your shipping than registration.
That neg may also mean you already have a Defect on your selling account which will mean an even longer wait for the Hold on your customer payments to end.
