Combined shipping to hub
Summary: lotzofuniquegoodies inquired about handling mixed orders with combined shipping through eBay, especially concerning customs and customer issues. marnotom! asked for clarification on 'mixed order', noting potential hub problems. lotzofuniquegoodies clarified that their order involved books from the USA and shared their experience, mentioning difficulties with eBay's system for combined shipping and its impact on costs. reallynicestamps shared their experience with combining orders from different sites, noting it was cheaper and effective for informing customers.
Has anyone had any difficulties with a mixed order going to hub for 1 customer? How was eBay's estimate for combined shipping? With eIS there is NO WAY to send a revised shipping invoice except cancelling and making a custom listing. Were there any issues with customs or customer concerns about applied tariffs. Did the full order get delivered? Did customer have major complaints with the process or was it 100% smooth sailing?
Lastly if all or some of the items involved were promoted were fees applied correctly. Were they excessive?

·3 weeks agoHi Lots of Unique Goods. From what I know only like items can be elgible for Comibined shipping, Comics and Comics, DVDs and DVDs etc. From what I have heard from USA sellers and Youtubers they aren't able to combine shipping on a lot of orders. Also I just get the default Invoices aren't available for international orders. I think it all has to do with Tarrif code processing. All of my EIS orders have been single item so I'm not for one hundred on what can ship with what but I believe they have to fall in the same Tarrif Code or they have to be shipped seperately

·3 weeks agoIhad a shipment that was partly purchased on dotCOM and partly on dotCA.
The dotCA offered eIS.
I just added the dotCOM order to the list of included products, changing the value for the import fees.
Still cheaper than what the separate shipments would have cost.
Sent a Message to the German customer that both orders were in the same package.

·3 weeks agoCould you elaborate on what you mean by “mixed order,” Lotz? Are the items from a variety of categories? If so, my understanding is that that could cause problems at the hub.

OP3 weeks ago@marnotom!
My first and only mixed order was today. Fortunately all books and all USA Coo. Still have to pack and see if I made or lost money on shipping. Betting others have run across this issue in the recent past and was curious to how it went and as also an FYI for any Canadian sellers that run across it in the future. Personally never had a problem with international shipping when multiple items...different or the same when we could ship using CP/Fedex/UPS etc. (It's called the LONG customs form.) I know there have been sellers who sell collectible cards that have had issues, both in the past and now when multiple price points are involved. (Limit to number of lines with eBay labels using the customs documentation.)
As a side eBay has never and will never be good at combined shipping when different sized items are involved. Even though we have been told on numerous occasions "they are working on a workable way to address."

OP3 weeks agoAs 1 + promotion charges are definitely less with eIS due to how the shipping is charged and calculated.
