Does Ebay No Longer Have a Phone Number To Call?
Summary: mrdutch1001 raised a concern about the lack of effective customer support on eBay, suggesting that it's more beneficial to contact specific eBay support personnel like @devon@ebay instead of continuing old discussions. There's an acknowledgement of frustration with eBay's support process, and mrdutch1001 seeks assistance from an official eBay representative for another user.
Hi there,
I've been trying to resolve an issue now for over an hour. The site, the chat bot, the phone numbers that I call keeps taking me around in a circle. Not every issue can be resolved with those options, sometime we need to speak with someone.
It's so FRUSTRATING!!!

·3 weeks agoI sent multiple msgs asking about the item before I bought it. The seller never replied...
I bought it then he immediately canceled my order and the reason said my shipping address is wrong and its not...
I sent multiple msgs asking why they canceled it and still no reply .
The only reply I received from the seller is him telling me that he is going to report me to ebay because I was frustrated with the situation of not getting any responses what so ever. Other then he is reporting me.
This seller should he banned from ebay after reading all his negative reviews and for what he did to me...
Now my money is frozen for a week and the other gas tanks im interested in have a high chance of not bieng avaliable to me once I get my money back a week from now.
.
This seller is highly unprofessional in my opinion

·3 weeks agoSome sellers need no reason to cancel, so they enter what ever they please from the list shown by eBay as "reason to cancel". What I think you should have not done is bombarding them with messages. I would just simply ignore it, write a negative review and forget about them.

You are covered by eBay's Money Back Guarantee for 30 days after delivery.
I hope it is not too late to open a Claim for Not Received.
If you are able to, you will be refunded in full.
If the seller does not refund you , eBay will and go after them for the money.
If you are too late, go to the credit card you really paid with and open a chargeback.
Most credit cards allow at least 120 days from payment for chargebacks.

Yes start your own thread
but
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/How-do-I-contact-Customer-Support/m-p/32016431#M1783851 -> Automated Assistant, type AGENT -> enter. You will then get more options. Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

·8 months agoThe new system seems to be to try everything to direct you in having them phone you. That was my discovery with trying to follow up recently with open tickets. If it is a call vs help there is no way to get a transcript. Maybe intentional? Who knows?!? As for using facebook they are not as reliable/helpful as they have been in the past. Almost more confrontational vs helpful with the oft noted trying to get you to disconnect as quick as possible. Last FB agent I spoke to I was told they had NO access to users settings and all I could do was keep checking in.

·9 months agoThis is a thread from 2024. It would be wiser for you to start a new thread about your issue.
The best way to contact ebay is through their social media reps (in Facebook or X), but you can also contact them via the Help & Contact tab (upper left part of the screen , when you login in your account).

·2 years agoMost of the question come down to Claims for Item Not Recieved (INR) or Not As Described (NAD).
You have only a few hours (96 I think) to answer a Claim.
For INR, put the tracking number into the claim. Do not expect eBay to do this for you. They want you to actively give Proof of Delivery.
If you did not use tracking (and I rarely do) you will lose the Claim. Period.
If the buyer gave you an Undeliverable address, eBay does not require you to refund a single penny.
For NAD, tell the buyer to return the item for a refund.
If they demand a refund without return, tell them to file a Claim.
EBay will require you to send Return Shipping. If you do, and they don't return the purchase, you will win the Claim.
If they return the item, refund on delivery.
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.
