Was aware of ebay US ending it's Facebook and X support March 11
Asked the facebook/ebaycanada account if they were going to continue to have support for Canada though, and looks like that's ending too:

·7 months agoThe cause and effect of this unofficial official announcement is users (both buyers & sellers) relied on FB/Insta/Twittering as their backup when eBay CS slowly became less helpful. (You've seen the boilerplate posts on the subject.) In some situations you may be able to get answers from the community but not if is a specific account issue that needs physical addressing or some kind of reset with your listings inner workings. With social media you could get a ticket opened and then, hopefully, a solution in a timely manner. Recently this has become not so easy. This termination of an alternate means will make it worse.
If you can't get that particular solution to a what should be a solveable at EBAY's end problem it means you are at a dead end. Anyone else seeing this as a problem going forward?

·7 months agoI honestly had no idea eBay even had a customer service presence on Instagram. Interesting.
Although if they shut down the Facebook/X channels, I can't imagine they would keep Instagram.

·7 months agoand there are countless threads in which the discussions suggested those were the best methods of contacting eBay! (I must admit I did use the Facebook method a time or 2! and successfully resolved the issue/problem too I might add))

·7 months agoAnd now for something completely strange. Just got a follow up for a previous message sent to eis back last week of Feb. The message was from eIS UK. According to the message the issue is still being investigated. The original message sent was from beginning of Feb.
Note: Each message received has been from a different agent.

·7 months agoThat’s definitely strange given that the UK site doesn’t have eIS. It’s still using the old Global Shipping Program(me).
The help page for eIS on the UK site is from a buyer’s perspective, referring to purchases from the US and Canada:

·6 months agoI had read that some support services were moving to Ireland, so maybe that is why you had a UK reply?

·7 months agoeBay Canada's support for its sellers & buyers has become basically non-existent anyway >it's about as useless as "teats on a boar"...Thankfully, I am "weaning" myself off eBay and will maintain but a teeny tiny existence here.

·7 months agoRe: Instagram - Still seems to be up for debate if Instagram will be remaining.
Most Instagram users are under 34 years old; 70% fall into this age group. Specifically, 7% are aged 13-17, 30% are 18-24, 33% are 25-34, 16% are 35-44, 8% are 45-54, 4% are 55-64, and 2% are 65 and older.
One dose of reality...hold the veteran eBay users!!

Thanks for posting the above. One would have thought that eIS being new to Canada would have dedicated help for both buyers and sellers. If you do have a problem using the eIS addy, you are advised to wait "24 to 48 hours". It appears if they do not like the question there will not be any follow up or you will be waiting much longer than implied. Not good when in the case of a seller they are under the gun to get an item shipped in a required timeline or a buyer is left in limbo wondering when they will see their purchase.
Currently even regular help is they call you vs direct online chat which means no transcript if one is required. You do get the "how did we do survey" instantaneously after disconnecting. Followup is no longer a thing.
