Ebay Canada Post Transit Windows
Summary: steven001_1999 expressed frustration about extended Canada Post transit times affecting their eBay sales, noting increased non-received item cases despite their long-standing positive reputation. regs43 shared that they also experienced similar issues and have adapted by extending their handling time, which seems to help. They discussed that delivery times have worsened since a postal strike. flipistics suggested using economy shipping to account for delays, explaining that actual transit times often exceed Canada Post's stated standards due to ongoing issues.
Rant post here, but hopefully someone from Ebay will see it, but who updated these Canada Post Transit times?
I live in the GTA, this item sold yesterday (sept 22) and I run a two day prep time to ship.
This item in question is going to Victoria BC via Canada Post letter mail as its a 3 dollar card free shipping.
Expedited shipping takes a week and a half. How do they have letter mail taking 3 - 7 business days?
I've had my items not received cases skyrocket since Labor Day and its pretty clear why.
Someone needs to fix this.
I'm not a huge seller, but 20 years on the platform over 1k feedback and 2500 items sold. Never a negative review left for me.
This is going to cause major issues if it isn't addressed.

·1 week agoCanada Post's official lettermail delivery standards are 3 business days provincial and 4 days national so I assume eBay is basing them roughly off of that. Unfortunately since the last strike those times are no longer realistic. I would recommend choosing economy shipping rather than specifically lettermail. That will give you extra delivery time. You can still add a note in the listing that says you ship lettermail.

·1 week agoIts been an issue for a while. I also sell cards, I cranked my handling time to 7 days after the strike last year when I got 5 cases for INR and never looked back since (that's the only real fix to extend the window).
People still buy from me regularly it hasn't deterred anyone in Canada from my experience, hard to say what the timeline does for USA buyers as there is a boatload of other factors with that now. I have had 2 INR cases in 2026 where I used lettermail and had to refund (so very minimal)
Lettermail with Canada Posts changes more recently are making 7-10 days for inter province delivery a thing sometimes now (its bad)

OP1 week agoThanks. I think thats probably the best solution then. I had someone message me today that they got the card after I refunded them this morning after a INR 10 days after sale across the country.

·1 week agoYeah nothing is making it across the country in 7 days imo (if it does it is super lucky)
